When Richard's dad died a few years ago and we had to take the family home apart, this was one of the things I took that was headed for the dump. When I think of all the things that get thrown away that could have a place in a home its pretty sad.

It is sad. That looks just like a chest of drawers I got from my Mother-in-law when I first got married and ya know---I don't even know where it is today. I hope one of the girls took it when they left home. You are right--it is sad. MB

Oh Nancy Jo! so beautiful!! It is sad how many treasures others see as junk. :( Thankfully, beauty is in the eye of the beholder and in this case its rescuer.:D

Dear Queen of all things destined for the bin (love that) - did you remove the top and restore it all by yourselves? Good job!

That is a great piece, Nancy Jo! I love old furniture and you can do a lot to restore it with just a little bit of work!
