This has been fun reading everyone's lists of people. Very interesting. I would have to say my dad's father and mother. My mom says I am alot like my grandmother. And I am a little honored to be. She was the wife of a minister & missionary and had to be a farmer, teacher and raised 5 great kids. Taught them all how to sing and they all played instruments and went to college. She kept scrapbooks of all 5 kids whole lives til she died in '75. So I actually met my grandmother but she had several strokes and really didn't know who we all were. My grandfather died in '57 before my brother was born so we never knew him. I do have scrapbooks of alot of his work. He wrote for a newspaper in Nebraska and the stories are so interesting to me.

Oopppss. Didn't mean to go on and on.

Why on earth would meeting John Lennon be strange? He's on one of my lists, but only if Yoko has another conflicting appointment :P

Okay, I'm a weirdo here.... I'd love to meet JOhn Lennon.... and Ty Pennington. Um.... I'd love to have met my 2 uncles Vernon and Robert Sears. Vernon lost his life in Korea and Robert in California during Vietnam. He was trying to save 13 cubscouts from a bridge that was collapsing during a flood. He saved them and his body has never been found. There is a memorial at a Naval base somewhere out there for him. Vernon's body was never found either. I'd also like to meet Elvis, Mama Cass, and Dolly Parton, Marilyn Monroe and.... and.... and.....

Tasha Tudor, actress Emma Thompson (I just find her brilliant), Louisa May Alcott (a kindred spirit), Frank Lloyd Wright, and my great great grandmother Eleanora Wilkins, and Justin's Uncle, "Father Kenneth Of the Heart of Jesus", a Passionist priest, and the most decorated (religious) soldier in WWII who served in Patton's army--I would love to speak to him about his photo album and all that he saw in Bastogne. I am sure there are more, but this is the list that pops into my mind most often.

Thomas Jefferson without question. He and I have so much in common. Gardening, books and music. Some of my favorite people that I would not turn away would be Carol Burnet, Ronald Regan, Will Rogers and would give anything to see my Daddy again.

Marian, I see Elvis everyday too. He is a hosta plant named Elvis Lives. And he is alive and well again this year!

Let's see, my grandfather first off. I feel a kindred spirit connection with him and would love to talk with him. I love to meet Maya Angelou, Abraham Lincoln,Oprah, not as a celebrity as the person she is inside,Martin Luther King,Tasha Tudor, and Thomas Jefferson what a fascinating man. Jesus, not to ask any earth shattering questions, just to sit and talk and listen to his sweet gentleness. That is way more than one and there are so many others, but that's a good sampling!

I had always wanted to meet Katherine Hepburn. I had always seen her as the epitomy of strength in women. She was strong minded, strong willed and had a strong character. She spoke her mind, said what she meant and meant what she said. I really like that in a person.

If I hadn't already met MaryJane, she would be listed here, too. She also has great strength of character, strong beliefs in herself and her abilities as well as the abilities of others. She is a very strong and inspiring teacher/role model/farmgirl and I feel priviledged to call her sister and friend!

My dad's mom, she died when he was little and the family was split up into other familys. I heard she played the piano for the slient movies, and that she made everything she needed with her hands.
I would also like to meet Susan Boyle.

Can we pick more than one? From my family, both sets of grandparents. My dad's dad had already passed on when I was born and I had only met my other grandparents when I was very young so don't have strong memories.

I would love to have conversations with Jesus (if I could time-travel) of course I'll meet him in Heaven, Dr. Jane Goodall, Dr. David Suzuki, Pope John Paul II, the Dali Lama just to name a few.

It would be Jesus and also my mother's blood mother. Mom was only 7 when her mother died and I've always wondered what she was like.

I'd really like to meet my real father. He left when I was 9, and I have quite a few questions for him.

I'd also like to meet Jesus. I think it would have been incredible to have met Him during His time on earth, but meeting Him in Heaven will be just as amazing. I hope ;-)

In my family, it would be my great grandmother who died in childbirth (the existing children were adopted).
I would also love to have met Helen & Scott Nearing. They were my constant inspiration and I feel we could learn so much from them and their lifestyle.

thomas jefferson would be interesting to talk to....love to know what he would think of the current interpretation of the constitution.... and our current (and leading up to) government and how screwed up he thinks they are?! but there are so many ideas.... including the "white star line" executives......would love to send back one of the top honchos to insist on extra life boats on the titanic!!

Ooooo....

This is a HARD one! I would need some time to think it over.... I guess I would like to meet my Great Grandfather. There are some many bits of stories about him that we don't know the answers to. He was born in the Ukraine, but was considered German yet fought in the Russian army during WWI. He came over to the US with my Great-Aunt who was quite young, and worked as a farmer. But I want DETAILS! :) My Great Grandma would tell me stories but I was young and she had such a heavy accent I only picked up about half of what she said! Which I regret now of course!
