Posted - Apr 20 2009 : 08:36:40 AM Hi farmgirl sisters, I am needing to buy a GPS because I get lost so easily and have needed one for a long time. I travel in 2 different cities and I'll get some extra money soon. I am told that they are not all alike and to not get the cheapest but to research. I know I'll need the larger screen...4 inches Anyone have ideas or suggestions?

Posted - Apr 20 2009 : 2:39:27 PM We have a Tom Tom it was almost $100. It will tell you where to turn up to 2 miles ahead. My husband keeps turning it off and relying on me. He's the one who wanted it. When we went to Port Dover Cananda for the Friday the 13th motorcycle ride. A group of Hardley riders where pulled over and we were not sure where we were so we also stopped. We found it on the map before they found it on the GPS. I doupt I would ever get another one.
Hope all your days are Sunnydays. dianebcarterhotmailcom.blogspot.com |

Posted - Apr 20 2009 : 12:26:36 PM thanks for the info I almost decided I wanted a Magellan and then got the input from Sue. I think the cheapest probably wouldn't work well. don't want to waste my money nor do I want to spend alot either.

Posted - Apr 20 2009 : 12:17:41 PM my son has a cheap one, (and it's probably a little older, too)...it's a magellan.....i'm not knocking it but....he is at the university of tampa and the problem we had when we used it down there was it didn't name the actual street you were supposed to turn on. in a city, the streets are so close so when it said "turn here" sometimes it meant the next street up. it got to be a pain, we'd make a turn a little too soon or too late and then the "lady" would say "i have to re-compute" and sometimes it seemed like forever for "her" to do that! ...i hated that "lady" sometimes!! ha,ha.... |
