Hi Girls, I was wondering if any of you could help me? My sister and I are planning a trip for the longest yard sale in August. We would like to know if any of you have ever been to it? Where is a good place to start and we would like to find a place to stay. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Toni

Toni: I wished it came closer to Louisiana -- you could come stay with me! I've never been, but I would love to go. Just have to wait and see!

Thank you Miss Wilma for the invite!! I told my sister maybe we should just pitch our tent in your back yard. She is still checking out the map and looking for our starting point but if we get close to you I will give out a big farmgirl holler. Toni

I live fairly close to this, but have never been to it. Might be something to check into for this year though.

Our family reunion is the same time as this. We do not go along that route to get to the park in Crossville anymore. It is the worst traffic mess ever. But one year I would love to go and just park and walk. I have gone to some on 27 near Lafayette before. Wall to wall yardsales. So fun and so much stuff.

If you go come by and see me. I'm not too far either. Just near Chattanooga. Have fun.

Wow! I never heard of this before. When I first read this post, I thought by "longest" yard sale they meant longest-running - like it's been set up for years. I just can't imagine so many vendors getting it together across so many states all at once. What a great time you're going to have, Toni!

Oh Toni, how lucky you are to be able to go to this....I have watched it televised on the HGTV channel for the past 4-5years....My daughter & I have vowed that someday we will load up the mini motorhome & just go for it! But unfortunatly it won't be this year, got to much irrigation to put in on the property. But someday!

Toni,

Here's the website for the longest yard sale...it's based out of Jamestown, Tennessee....not far from Crossville and I'm in a few hours away near the Smoky Mtn State Park entrance.

I've never been either but lots of folks start at this middle section and choose a north or south route...

Check out the site..there are alot of cabins and such for rent and there may be a map to find places in Ohio and Alabama
