Hey gals,
My sister and I just returned from a weekend knitting retreat and wanted to share with all of you the great time we had.
18 women and most of them were tons of fun. We arrived as strangers but left with lots of new friends. We just sat and chatted about our lives and the things we enjoya and knit a lot.
It was held at a B&B in Lakeside, Ohio and the food was great, too.
Found some other gals who were interested in Farmgirls, too.
The oldest person was probably in her 70s and the youngest was a beautiful young girl of 17. On Saturday evening we were treated to an impromptu piano concert by Taylor, the 17 year old. What a fun and rejuvenating week end.
Check out Lakeside, Ohio on line if you have never heard of it, It is an amazing little town and it feels like you are stepping back into the 50s there. Every body watches out and cares for everybody else. Kids all over on their bikes. A real slice of small town

Michele-sounds like a wonderful time! I know the St Louis MO guild has a retreat every year, but it's very pricey. The knitting group I go to on Tuesday evenings did a girl's weekend last year at a local B&B and we had a blast. As an additional bonus there was a quilt show going on in the historic shopping district that weekend, so we got to wander around and drool over some incredible quilts :)

Michele, that sounds like a really fun time. I always thought that B&B's would be a great place for that kind of stuff! Did you get any pictures?

Sadly, I haven't learned to knit, yet! I want to learn. Maybe I could organize a beginner's class at a B&B? Hmmm...thanks for the inspiration!
