Hubby and I will be moving into our retirement home soon
I was wondering if yall know what to plant to attract them.
Something that would come back every year two.

Hey Sheila! High five for the upcoming move; I know you will be so happy to get settled in. There was a great thread, probably in the Garden Gate section, sometime last summer or early fall on this very topic. The gals have given great ideas, and I will add echinacea and tickseed(birds love the dried seeds in autumn) and butterflies love zinnia blossoms also. Be careful not to forget the precious bees, who love weigela, which can get to be a big size shrub, covered with tiny pinkish blooms in early summer. Happy housewarming hugs, Nance |

Better homes and garden website has a section on gardening and i downloaded plans for humming bird container garden and they had others for butterfly and bird garden containers

Coral Bells, Salvia, Lavender, Cimifuga(sp?), lucifer's breath, honeysuckle, trumpet vines, winter jasmine, italian oregano, russian sage - that is all I can think of off of the top of my head for now.

Yes congratulations on your move! I got me a couple canisters of those wildflower seeds from walmart and planted a small hill of dirt, prob about 6x6 or so and they came up really thick. There were lots of bright flowers in the mix and the butterflies and hummingbirds loved them! Goodluck and let us know what you decide.

Congratulations on your move Sheila!
Butterfly Bush and Bee Balm are both perennials that will attract them. I'm still learning so I don't know what else :)
