Karin, I have to tell you that when I read the title of this thread that was it for me!

You know what my weekend has been like so I just read the title and let my imagination roll. I just now read the story and it is every bit as hilarious as I imagined. Sorry, to be totally giggling at your expense...your pj's expense, your crocks, your pitcher, your bathrobe and your girls...But!!!!!

Oh Man, this was WONDERFUL!!! Thank you so much for sharing! Totally brightened my day!

3 cheers to you! ~julia

Karin, that makes 3 of us....having only lived here about 8months, I went out on the back deck to sweep or something,,,in my P.J.'s of course....I had colsed the sliding door so my little furballs wouldn't sneak out,,,we keep a piece of wood dowling the lenght of the door runner in the tracking, well I had lifted it up & leaned it aginst the slider,,,but when I closed the door the dowling slid down into the track...yep, another "farm girl" locked out in P.j.'s....another Lucy Moment....I think we all have had at least one,,,ok, maybe 2 (or more) lol!

Kris- Oh, no!! I'm so sorry! Really, I feel yoru pain. lol Yep, those Crocs are just not good for chicken-tending or chasing! Maybe we need to wear cleats. ;)
I am so glad to hear I am not the only one who wears pj's to do chores. I feel quite proud to be amongst such genuine, practical farmgirls.

Well Karen, I should have taken this as a warning not to go outside in the rain with pj's on and wearing those good for nothing slick crocs. First thing this morning I look out the window and there were chickens in my lettuce bed scratching away. I slipped on the crocs that I keep right beside the door and out I go yelling at them to get out of the garden. Of course they did not. So I start running and as soon as I got on the grass (very wet muddy grass) both feet go out from under me and I fell flat on my back and whacked my head, too. I screamed and said some things I am not proud of. And my hubby sitting in the house didn't hear a thing. I ended up just going barefoot to the garden and threw the stupid shoes at the chickens. I hope I never get really hurt out there one day and he's in the house watching the news and never hears me.

So I am not going back out there anymore today. I did get some chicken wire and put over the beds. Hopefully that will keep them out.

I sure hope ya'll had a better start to the day.

Great story. Yea, I found out the hard way about Crocs and mud!! Which I thought was so strange because I was told they were intended for gardening use-what is in a garden? MUD, lol
I loved to get out of bed in the morning and go feed the sheep, the fact I was still in my jams didn't bother me, it was such a peaceful way to wake up.

Okay Karin, now that others are admitting it, I will too, when I read the short version on FB I nearly laughed out of my chair, but I didn't want to offend you so I didn't say so. Now I can. Thanks for making others smile today.

That is so funny! Probably not to you, but you tell a great story. And yes, I have the same ole crocs that I slip and slide all over in, too. Not the best things to wear on a muddy day. I hope no one saw that, but it would have given them a good laugh if they did.

I sure hope the rest of your day went much better.
