Last night Thursday the 12th) I was driving down the river between Dusty,WA and Dayton, WA... the full moon and stars shining brightly, music blaring... and out of no where... music stops, lights on the car go dead and no power steering....... the car was "dead". Now during the summer this road is traveled a lot... but as I found out sitting along the road (after having pushed the car there), that this isn’t well traveled in March... at least this night. And of course no cell phone... so as time passed (4 hours to be exact)... I had plenty of time to contemplate a lot.... (More details will be showing up in the next newsletter I am sure)... but let's just say. I have decided that Friday the 13th has been better then the night of the 12th............

I keep candles, matches, blankets and a cell in my car at all times. waiting 4 hours in the dark would of creeped me right out. I may have finished my knitting but I think I would of still been scared. So glad your safe.

Hope all your days are Sunnydays.

Thanks for all the well wishes, yes it was the altenator... UGH! Be watching for the "rest of the story" (as Paul Harvey would say) in the upcoming newsletter (MaryJane's Cluck).

TS.. good to hear from you.....................

Was it your alternator?

March 13 is my grandmother's birthday, and she was born on a Friday. So it's always been her "lucky day". I don't have any strong feelings one way or the other myself.

That would have really freaked me out! Good thing you had some projects with you. :) I need to put a flashlight in my car for times like these. I have a blanket and beef jerky though so that's good. Friday the 13th doesn't usually bother me though. It's just something the cinema producers made up for a good scary movie in my opinion. :)

Kristin.. I actually got a lot of work done, nothing like a little "forced" down time. and I was "lucky" enough to have some projects in my car with me. I love that!It was pitch dark outside and the car lights were dead, so I had to rig some lighting but... hey, I am a farmgirl so whats a little challenge right.

Lets say indifferent. Had no idea it was Fri 13 until I was driving home last night around 4 p.m.!

I did say a prayer for friends and family who might be on the road though.

Friday the 13th was started as a bad luck day as it was the date the Knights Templar were seized way back in history(the year escapes me 800 A.D. or 1300 A.D. ??) so I really consider it a good day for Christians.

Rene, so glad you are fine, Thank God for your in-laws.

It took 4 hours for you to get help?? Wow. And I thought we were in the boonies here. You had lots of time on your hands then.

I have never thought of Friday the 13th as any different than other days. I am not superstitious at all. I will walk under ladders and open umbrellas inside just to scare people. That's funny. Except for the movie, Friday the 13th. That scared me so bad I could not move til my hubby got home from work on 2nd shift all those years ago.

Tell us more about your long wait.

Poor Girl.....It would have creeped me out for sure!

I get scared when I am outside alone in the dark!!

I feel so alone and so insignicant looking up at the sky

Glad to know you made it home and are safe and sound....
