I recently popped into where the local quilting group meets. It was 3 little old ladies that talked my ear off, but were so cute. The one was super excited to teach me anything and everything (she listed all the methods and stitches she'd teach me). I have been thinking about table cloths and how ugly ours are. Any ideas how to incorporate a quilt feel or make one or idk something country but not plastic and not made in china. I want some soul and washability in the table cloth :) xo

I just picked up a quilted "tabletop square" at the antique shop, though it's more of a rectangle and not an antique...but it looks real cute on my table with an antique coffeepot on it, adds such a warm look to the kitchen. Had to buy one since I'm just figuring out the whole quilting thing...Actually, they look like a good project to learn with.

Karin, I was thinking of you when I was there, I saw a pair of pillowcases with owls embroidered on them...

Lots of women in my quilt group make tablecloths, pretty much the same as a quilt, though I remember a great round robin event, where strips were added to the tablecloth top, it came out so pretty, there is something so sweet about handmade tablecloths. Having a thin batting and a bit of quilting or ties gives the tablecloth a very nice drape.
