Has anyone ever heard of this company? They're a rug company from the Berkshires..

What fun!!! I have been looking (and looking) for an area rug for the nursery that was soft, sturdy and cleanable (and NOT propylene) and wandered into this lovely consignment shop in Bellevue, where he sells a nice mix of old and new items, and they showcase these rugs. A 6 x 9 was $194 for a woven, all cotton area rug. AND the patterns! Oh my gosh! It took me a full week to decide and even then I second guessed myself. I wanted it to be something that we can use years from now, when our little one grows, and the room can change with her. Right now, the nursery looks very cottagey 1940's, with honey hard wood floors, and a key lime pie color on the walls, with white woodwork and white vintage furnishings.

This is the one I decided on, called Stone Soup--not "too" girly but has the colors of her room, and pinks and robins egg blues, to boot, that I can pick up at a later date.

A close up of the coloring:

We really love green..so I hope she does, too

Oops....I see you already asked someone at the store. I sometimes scan the posts and don't always read everything. His recommendation sounds good...gentle cycle in cold water, then let them air dry.

Violet...the rugs I have are woolen hooked rugs, so I can't wash them. I'm not sure about the striped rugs (those are so pretty...the colors!), but maybe you can check with a retailer that sells them, or check out their website.

I agree...I think you could use them anywhere in your home. I love that they range from traditional, cottage and beachy to contemporary. You can use them all!

How cute are those?? I'd buy them to put anywhere - love the colors.

I believe so, at least that's what the man at the store told me (because they had some smaller ones rolled for display and sale. He said he uses a large capacity washer on gentle and then hangs them (to conserve color). For my size, it's a trip to the dry cleaner, but I don't feel that's a big deal. Also, he recommended starting them on the flip side...smarty!!!

Judy...what about you? Do you wash them? It's a good question, because I was going to get some for the kitchen eventually :)

Are those cotton rugs washable? At least the smaller ones? Does anyone know?

I have four of their smaller, area rugs. They are very well made...and the prices are not bad! I've had them for over a year and they wear like iron.

I love the rug you chose. Miss Violet is a lucky girl. I've been on the outlook for some floor coverings and I think these might just fit the bill. Thanks for the website info.

I love those cats paw rugs, Victoria...I didn't get the hooked because I actually have 3 "live" sets of cats paws that would be all over them--my three kitties LOVE a good hooked rug :)

You should still look, Amie...I wonder if they do any custom orders?

I found a store about half an hour from my house that carries them! But sadly it looks from the website as though they don't make runners that I could install on my stairs...that's the one place I really need to find carpet for now.

Great rugs!!! You have motivated me even more to rip up this old carpeting and just paint the plywood underneath and get some of those NEAT rugs!!!! Great comment on the "action figure".....too cute!!!

I love their rugs. I have three of their Cats paw hooked rugs in my kitchen and one in the living room. The ones in the kitchen get lots of wear AND THEY STILL LOOK GOOD!

Ohhh the dining room sounds lovely--do look at this company for rugs. I was just overly impressed with the selection, and I had been looking for something just like this rug as well. You get something "fixed" in your mind, and then you can't shake it. I was never so glad to happen into that little store!

I think Violet's room paint color must be very similar to the color I picked for my dining room last year. I was looking for exactly that kind of rug, but didn't find one. Thanks for the company name. Good price too!

I'm laughing out loud at the 'action figure' comment. :D And I'm all tingly at the thought of green glass drawer pulls!

For all appearances, Janice, and from the smaller rugs (and cool bags) he had in his store, they seem well made, and sturdy, and just gorgeous. It only takes 2-3 days for them to order and ship as well, so it's like "instant gratification!"

I really loved the retro look of this rug, too...and like I said, it took me a good solid week of looking (over and over) at each one, and I could have loved any of them in the end. But, I didn't want it to be "too" girly and then wish that I had gone to a more versatile rug. So, in the end, I went back to my first "gut reaction" choice.

I was hoping you might like them...the guy at the store has an old mission style Queen Anne that he has redone, and uses them all through his house. His favorite is the "sunflower" ticking, and it is really pretty. I think you could do wonders with this company in the farmhouse!!!

I know EXACTLY what crayon your talking about, and it's about right--I am just awaiting the rug and the green milk glass drawer pulls for her chest of drawers (they should be in tomorrow) and I'll post photos :) Maybe by then, we'll have the baby too! As Justin is also wont to say, "we have everything but the action figure!"

Well, I'll be saving that web address! That carpet is just fantastic!!! So crisp and neat and retro all at once! I'm working on flooring decisions for the farmhouse addition(you knew that) and that sort of rug would look wonderful if I use bamboo in the tiny downstairs bedroom. I have a pic of Violet's room in my mind. There was a crayon color that I have fixated on as the green. I don't think they use it any more. Can't wait to see a pic of her room.
