I finally learned how to insert a photo so now I can share with you all like you so freely share with me as I read about your homes! Here is a picture of my house.

Mary Ann, oh yes, we went to the Museum first! I absolutely loved it. Springfield is my home town, so I grew up with the history there, and it is so good to see them improving on it and preserving it. I grew up about a block from the Edwards place, which still stands. It is there that Abe and Mary Todd met.

Please tell me that when you went to the Library, you crossed the street and visited the Museum, too. I found that place so moving.

Thanks for the peek into your life. It's always fun to see how others on our board live.

The little one in the teddy bear dress is our granddaughter Abigail Grace. To have her sitting there between us was all we needed for Christmas!

Love the bench and you two are just the cutest couple!!!

Thanks, guys. You know what? On my computer the photo is not showing up at all so I was not certain if anyone else could see it. We live in north Florida and our pansies love the winters here - very seldom get frozen.

Cajungal, my hubby and I were at the presidential library of Abraham Lincoln in Springfield, Ill. They had a collection of Christmas quilts on display over the holidays. He went willingly as there was history involved, too!

The old timber bench was what was left after cutting a mantle my daughter is having made for her stone fireplace. Can't let an old timber go to waste! They painted their handprints on it and dated it.

jpblue.....lovely, precious home!! I love dormer windows....they add such character to the outside. My girls use theirs as reading nooks.

Handsome hubby....It looks like you were at a quilt show or something like that...was he a willing participant to go or did he go kicking and screaming?

Blessings
Catherine

This is the bench my daughter and her family made for my hubby for Christmas - it is from a 150 year old timber. We have put it out back now near the garden.

what a beautiful home!!

you can be oh so smart, or you can be oh so positive. I wasted a lot of time being smart I prefer being positive.

Well, while I am getting the hang of this photo thing, I will try one of my hubby. This should be one I took when we visited the Lincoln Presidential Library in Springfield, Illinois at Christmas.

JP -- that is my very favorite kind of house!! I love your dormer windows on the 2nd floor. A beautiful and inviting home. And you'd leave this to move to the midwest????

Gratitude turns what we have into enough.

Yep, my (or should I say my hubby's) pansies love the cold snaps we have, and cannot take the heat. Same with most of our flowers.

I love the trees around your home! How very pretty you must have wonderful song birds around your home!

How pretty! I admire your windows. I have an almost obsessive fondness for square-paned sash windows, and yours look quite lovely!
