If you need an inexpensive, last minute lil' something for your sweet kiddos' classroom or maybe a Sunday School class - this might be something you would like. My lil' guy and I had a lot of fun making these - like we always do - flour everywhere!!!! But they are super easy and most of you will probably have everything you need right at home. Jus' a lil' something simple that I thought I'd share with you.

Happy Valentine's Day my farmgirl friends.

Sounds like you guys have already gotten busy making some of your own - so glad you are having fun with them. I took my lil' boys treats for his Kindergarten class this morning - and the lil' girls were tickled to death - makes it all worth while (those nights I'm up to 2 a.m. piddlin')hehe

Beverly, your question about the wire - I'm sorry to say that I don't know what gage it is. I simply use our fencing wire. My only recommendation would not to use something to light weight - salt dough is kind of heavy - especially if you are making larger ornaments. Wish I could be more specific - but my wire jus' come out of the fencing box on the 4-wheeler. Hubby hasn't missed it jus' yet.

Have a happy and beautiful day!
Valentine Wishes,
Cathy

Thank you so much Beverly. The paint I used is simply acrylic craft paint - oh I would hate to say how many bottles of that stuff I have. As far as that wonderful song - I'm not for sure who sings it but it is from the "Joe Black" soundtrack. I absolutely love it too - I find myself pulling this song back up real often.

So glad you liked the lil' necklaces and I truly appreciate your kind words.

Happy Valentine Wishes! Cathy

Thanks so much for your sweet, kind words. I'm glad you enjoyed looking at them - I'll share my Easter salt dough goodies when I get them done. I will do my best to not be so last minute next time - time jus' gets away from me sometimes.

We all know - a farmgirl's work is never done - but oh what fun it is!!!

Many blessings to you all and have a beautiful Valentine's Day!

Those are adorable! Thanks for sharing them with us. My son's kindergarten Valentine's party is today. I sent in pink heart with a magnet on the back along with pink and red heart shaped crayons & stickers for the kids to decorate them with. My son dislikes most of the snacks from his party, so I thought a little magnet for mommy or Grandma's refrigerators would be more fun for them.

This looks like a great keepsake for them to make in first grade. Thanks for sharing!

Love your blog and even enjoyed visiting some of the blogs you list as links!

I made these little valentines with my girl when she was in elementary school (she is now 30) and we then made them into necklaces by making a small hole in the top of the heart while shaping them, and lastly inserting yarn for each of her school mates. We had a lot of fun doing it too!

I also noticed on your bnlog you have alittle white bison named Snowball. For 18 years we had one named Cottonball. What great pets they are!
