I have been looking for a spoon holder big enough for a lot of my spoons. today I found one. Most of the ones I have seen are too small but this was a nice size one. I can't figure out what is up with my posting pictures, the words and the pictures require two separate posts. I picked up a few other thngs but I have to run and get groceries and pick my daughter up from work..Anyboby else having trouble with Blogger or just me?

Very nice holder Nancy Jo. I like the way you displayed your baby spoons in the small pourer or was it a vase. MB

Alot of mine are old family spoons. A lot of them are engraved. Two of them are from 1853. I love to find old baby spoons that are engraved, always looking through the silver at the thrift. The old siver ware is so much more interesting, and in most cases much better made the new.

I thought collecting spoons was an age gone by thing. My husbands older sister has her grandmothers collection and a lot of newer ones from places she has been and ones that others picked up for her. My kids use to look for ones when we went on vacations. The only one I have is a smokey the bear one.

I'm glad you have a nice rack to display yours on now. They look so neat.

THat is wonderful Nancy Jo.

My grandmother passed along her spoon collection to me. It is of the 50 state spoons and a few from other countries too. Like British Columbia etc. She had a wooden spoon holder that was shaped like the United States that all of the spoons could be displayed on. I don't know what happened to the spoon holder, but I have all of the spoons. She said they were my great grandmothers. I would love to know where she got them from, but I've not heard that story yet. They are desperate need of polishing, but that will have to wait until they are safely in the new house and being displayed somehow. Until then, they are safely tucked away in my "still hoping" chest. :P

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, cookies in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming. "WOOHOO, What a Ride!"

Somebody gave me a couple of spoons that commemorate when Queen Elizabeth took the throne, I think in the fifties....they are small and very pretty. And Nancy Jo, I use the spoon you sent to me once every day in our sugar bowl. Nice spoon holder for 2 dollars!
