Saturday I went to the Country Living Expo & Cattleman's Winterschool-2009. It went from 7:30AM to 5:00PM. It was pretty darn good.I took 5 classes and we all were served lunch. My classes
1. All about mud
2. Felting for fun
3. Pasture Management
4. Lameness in Horses
5. Introduction to Fiber Goats.
All this took place at Stanwood High School
Venders were set up in the gym.
I looked for Suzanne--wildcrafter but didn't find her. She was supposed to be teaching some classes.

I really learned that I don't have much mud. The only mud in the winter I have in the pastures is where the horses stand by the water trough. The pastures are pretty high and dry. the thing to have if you have mud is to build a sacrifice area--built up with gravel etc so it can drain and put the horses, goats sheep etc--in when the grass growing areas are muddy. Interesting class. I have a sacrifice area I use in the spring when the grass is growing so it can grow. MB
