Posted - Jan 31 2009 : 9:51:12 PM First of all, I want to say thank you to everyone for making January a month to remember. All of your sweet and wonderful gifts were so encouraging and helped me to get through some rough days. :) I received so many wonderful things that blessed me so much! That is why after some good hard thinking and praying on it, I've decided the woman to take hold of this strawcrown of farmgirl of the month passed down from Mellaisbella should go to.......LAINEY!!
I know that she will be encouraged and that the good things to come will help her to get through whatever February will bring her way. She has shown her love for fellow sisters with her willingness to pray and send sweet thought to those who needed it.
Lainey--Here's your straw-crown! I hope you enjoy your reign as much as I did...lol!
HUGS!

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, cookies in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming. "WOOHOO, What a Ride!"

Posted - Feb 01 2009 : 7:16:45 PM Wow! I just got home and online and found this! Thanks so much Jessie, I don't know what to say! This is a great and wonderful surprise. Our electric just came back on late last night and this is the first chance I've had to get online. I've been at the hospital all weekend with Mom, it's been a pretty rough time.
Mom's in ICU in a Lexington hospital and she's had some scary moments this past week. Today during the 'rest period' when they don't allow anyone back there my husband and I went to a Barnes and Noble. I went straight to the magazine section and found Mary Jane's Farm, the 'Bee' issue. What a comfort it was to sit and go through the pages, showing my husband the articles and telling him that most of the authors were my farmgirl sisters. I was so touched seeing the pictures of beautiful Aria and Julia's descriptions of their path on this journey. I didn't get a chance to read everything, but I'm planning on pouring over everything later.
This forum and all the ladies who contribute to it inspire me. Never have I been in a place with so many kindred spirits. When I've been down these past years there has always been someone here who says just the exact thing I needed to hear. When I've needed some advice in life, especially with my attempts at gardening and country life in general, there's usually an answer to be found whether I've asked the question or not. I am so impressed with you all, I admire your hard work in your creations of crafts, food, and at farmlife in general. We may not all live on a farm, but I've heard a wise saying that goes along the line of 'Farmgirl is a condition of heart'. I truly believe that.
Thanks again so much Jessie for this honor, I do appreciate it and you so much. And thank you all for the nice comments, they mean so much!
(((Hugs)))
