Posted - Jan 26 2009 : 7:15:47 PM but I have not shaved under my arms since the end of summer and I could probably braid all the hair now. Well, I couldn't. Someone else would have to and that doesn't sound like a job I'd ask anyone to do. It's really not as bad as I thought it would be though. I do still use deodorant. I haven't gotten that far yet. But you know the movie "Dances with Wolves" where Kevin Costner finds Stands with a Fist and she's sick or something and he takes her back to her tribe and the really cute Indian with all the long hair blowing in the breeze (I love him) grabs her by the arm and drags her back with him and you can see all her underarm hair? Well, that's about where I am now.
I told ya it's probably a little TMI. I hope I'm not the only one out there with braidable underarm hair right now.

Posted - Feb 03 2009 : 07:39:28 AM oops! Never crossed my mind about the being in an accident thing.
Oh well
Depending on the trauma, I think doctors might be focusing on other things anyway.
i forget that about the undie thing too. I have several broken in pair that are very comfy....not too pretty to look at though
Hopefully I'll never have to worry about being in an accident period |

Posted - Feb 02 2009 : 11:16:03 AM I haven't shaved anything since...well forever. The last time anything was shaved on my body was when I gave birth to my youngest son 16 years ago...and the hospital required it....lol... I figure there is a good reason that the stuff is there in the first place....right? I mean if our bodies weren't meant for it to grow there...it wouldn't.

Posted - Jan 31 2009 : 2:47:40 PM lol..Kristin..that is how my man is too. The children kept ignoring him when he shaved off his goatee and moustache for the first time..lol He had to wait until he had some good two day dark stubble until the kids would reown him. Married a good Irish boy, so our poor children are going to look like the abominibal (sp?) snowman when they get older...hehe
How old is that movie?Seems to me tha tif Kevin Costner was in it, that'd I'd have seen it by now. hm...where have I been??!! Hope yall are having a great weekend! hugs

Posted - Jan 31 2009 : 11:55:23 AM Oh, not the arms! I can't imagine shaving my arms. But my arm hairs are light, so no problems there.
And I too have a hairy man. I love chest hair and beards and all that goes with it. My hubby has always had a beard and needs it. I had seen pictures of him before I met him without a beard and I told him it had to stay. Well, one day I came home with the kids and there stood this man that looked vaugly familiar but just couldn't place him. I finally realized it was him and nearly fainted. Then I got mad. I would not kiss him til his beard grew back. He hasn't done that again. The kids didn't even know him. It was quite a shock.

Posted - Jan 31 2009 : 10:34:14 AM Oh, Terri, Harrison Ford is one of my favs, too! And I know I'm not the only one...lucky gal.
I'm surprised that you'd never heard of this movie, too, Jessie. It was a big one at the theaters. Kevin Costner, Graham Green, Mary McDonnell and the heartthrob, Rodney Grant!
I guess shaving toes sounded funny to me because I never thought of it! They seem so insignificant. I don't think I ever looked that closely at anybody's toes. LOL. But, then, my daughter just told me that she shaves her fingers and forearms because she hates the dark hair.

Posted - Jan 31 2009 : 10:18:17 AM It's amazing how "all great minds think alike... " and good lookin' SAVAGE men make us all DROOOOOOOLLLLL!! Funny, but I like men who are NOT hairy, so why did I marry one that wears a "Fur Suit" 24/7? Hmmm .... but then, I did not marry him for his "fine physique!" (LOL!!)
He was chubby and hairy when I married him, I never expected THAT to change! Especially when he puts jelly, syrup AND whipped cream on his waffles at breakfast!!! He's so not like the men I USED to date!! ....Rock hard bodies (all athletes-- usually football!), big, TALL, cute butts (DH doesn't have much of one to speak of), gorgeous eyes any color but BROWN ('cause I got brown eyes) and.....sigh.... all VERY CONCEITED!!!! Maybe that's why I married "Mr. Short, Round and FURRY!!" (who has BROWN EYES!! Ha! ha! ha!) Ahh... but I do so LOVE that man!!! Anyway, I too have veered WAAAAY off the subject.....
Hey, don't laugh at the toe shaving thing. I may let my armpit hairs take on a life of their own, and I may let my legs get so hairy people think I'm wearing black socks... but NO WAY will I be caught DEAD with HAIRY TOES!!!!!!! (LOL!!!!) Hugs~~~ Tracy

Posted - Jan 31 2009 : 07:25:04 AM Jamie, that happens to us all the time. The wind blows or a cloud goes over or a little sprinkle, the dish goes off. So annoying. I hope it came back on for you to watch the movie. It's a 3 hour movie and he's all over it, so maybe you didn't miss too much.
Jessie, how hilarious you are! Be sure your hubby watches, too. It is a western. Mine loves it. I can't believe you have not heard of this movie. We actually went to the theater when it first came out. They need to have a bathroom break in the middle cuz it's so long and ya don't want to get up. Yeah, be sure and shave, girl!
And I hope ya'll know I exagerated just a little about being able to braid the arm hair. It's not that long. Only maybe about an inch so far.

I hate the wait it looks when I wear flipflops and once you start you can't stop. Guess that's part of being a bonny Irish girl..lol Yall have made me laugh so hard I cried. Posted - Jan 29 2009 : 06:40:02 AM Teresa Sue, that's a good idea! Sometimes it is necesary. A few months ago a friend I kind of take care of wanted to go get a pedicure and manicure. It didn't even cross my mind until we got there that I had not shaved legs or toes. And she insisted I get one, too. I really did not want to and told them why. There was one lady in there at the time. She said to just do it. I was so embarrased. And I really loved it. Next time I will shave.
I also worry a little about getting in an accident and having to have my clothes ripped off. OMG! I might have to go shave now.
Ya'll are too funny. And thanks, Lisa, for his name. I have dreamed about him. But that's my little secret!

Posted - Jan 28 2009 : 6:47:02 PM What a funny post Kristin! With all the response, I guess that just shows we can discuss pretty much anything (even TMI stuff)!
I thought less hair was a "getting older" thing, too. I have hardly any left growing on my legs and stopped shaving upper legs years ago, too. Couldn't tell the difference so, I figured I was just wasting my time. Thankfully, nothing on my chin (yet). I shave underarms because deodorant won't even last a day if I don't shave. Never even thought about shaving toes! Sorry, but that sounds hilarious to me! LOL
As far as Dances With Wolves; Wind In His Hair is drop-dead gorgeous. His real name is Rodney...shoot I forgot his last name. Anyway, that man has the prettiest hair!

Posted - Jan 28 2009 : 6:24:46 PM to Shave or Not to shave that seems to be the question...... Not for me.. I shave my legs almost weekly, I cannot stand the stubble when i put on my "Silkies" long Underwear". As far as the pits.. well I occassionally forget in the winter, but I noticed the older or it might just be a Post menopausal thing. .. I get the less hair grows..Except on my chin.. speaking of that.. where did I put my tweezers?

Posted - Jan 28 2009 : 1:18:04 PM I tend to go quite a while without shaving (legs or underarms). Probably more in the winter months than in the summer, but as I don't wear shorts or tank tops I don't really know why. I'm glad to hear that there are others like me.
I like the TMI posts too, they are most interesting I think.
