I want to give a shout out to all the farmgirls with blogs.

I've been visiting them to see what you do and to get ideas and I'm blown away by how creative and beautiful your sites are!

I tried to add a countdown clock but I don't like the look of it. ugh. I have so much to learn. Any advice from you pros would be greatly appreciated!

Take a gander and let me know what you think.

If you are visual like I am then a blog is a must! If you are artistic then it's another reason to have one..so you see, they can be used in so many different ways...only your imagination limits you. I have alot of fun with my two blogs and my website. It's all been designed by me and I'm self taught..

I'm happy to answer any questions you may have whenever I can.

Thanks so much for the addy Alee. I am listed on the Blog roll but with an old blog. I need to visit around the blogs from here...YIKES there as SO many! The Mary Jane's farmgirl Blog Roll Call is on the Farm Collectibles Forum. I know at one time I had received a request to add MJFGC to my blog...as an effort toward shared communication. It helps all of us to share links on blogs for several reasons...shared ideas and common interests and for those who have esty stores, advertisements and possible increased revenue for both the blog/esty owner and the MJFG.

I didn't know there was a "blog-roll" here... how do I find it? I don't have one myself, but have enjoyed viewing the ones I stumble upon in posts I read here in the forums... and I'd like to check out more.

Hello farmgirls! Please someone pass this on to whomever keeps up with the blog roll...I changed my blog, decided to "refocus" so here is the new addy: http://knotasitseams.blogspot.com I was sincerely hoping that Mary Jane's might have a free "button" or "sticker" to add to our blogs...If you dont have one available might be something to think about. Had to laugh as I was at my local (and remote) quilt shop this past Friday when the owner recieved a call about featuring Mary Jane's mag/books at the shop... I said "Hey I know those peeps! I have featured that site on my blog...remember?? Tre Cool!" so anyhooo would love to have a "button" for my blog...please respond and email me. HUGs to all Kate

Hey everyone :) When I do headers, I edit them in Photoshop then post it in as an image. I think, though, Blogger now gives you the option, instead of just plain text.

Terri, I created my header in Powerpoint because my son was home and knows a lot about Powerpoint! Then, I saved the file as a jpeg and used the blogger guidlines to place it at the top as the header.
I did change the html code a little to reduce the width of it because when I switched to a 3 column blog page (which I could not figure out how to do and paid the $5 to have someone do it) the header was too big.
Hope this helps.

Linda, your blog looks good.

I blogged for a couple of years and then quit for a couple of years and just started back up again. Most of what I learned about setting it up was just trial and error and copying what I liked from other blogs. Of course I've forgotten a lot of what I used to know. But I feel good just posting more regularly recently.

I don't have a gmail address, but I do have a blogger account. So I don't know why. It didn't even let me get to the point of verifying my information. The "captchya" or however you spell it wouldn't show- I could see the box where it was supposed to be but the comments thingy didn't bring in the image.

Alee, thank you so much. What a wonderful thing to say! I'm really trying to do this differently this time and the blog helps to sort the feelings that surface sometimes without any warning.

Do you have a g mail address? if so, you should be able to leave comments. wierd huh?

And thank you to you too Angie. I've spent hours on that gadget section! Aaarggh. I'm on a learning curve and will keep plugging away at it.

Linda, I visited tons of blogs before I started my own and would click on the widgets, gadgets etc and then save the link in a special favorites folder. Later, when I had a little more time I would follow the directions to put these on my blog. I can tell you that initially I spent hours figuring it all out but it does get easier as you familiarize yourself with all the types of "extras" you can put on your blog.
Hope this helps a bit.

For some reason I still can't comment on your blog. When I try to leave a comment it doesn't bring up the word verification image. So here is my comment:

Linda- you are an inspiration. I read through your post and I saw in you so much of what I feel of my self! I don't know anything about the program- I will have to read more! But I too am on a journey to get better health mainly through eating better, making better choices and finding exercises that work in my life. You are wonderful! Absolutely fantastic! Keep it up. You have inspired me!
