I have had really good service out here. The only thing that has happened is my January newspaper payment went missing. I have no idea where it went. It was mailed January 2 and never arriverd at the paper. Other than that I seem to be pretty lucky I guess.I hope I haven't jinxed myself now!!

Hmm.....maybe that is what happened to our mortgage statement last month! We get one every month, and always at the same time, but not this time! Every package I mailed during the holidays took over three weeks to get to it's detination. HAve not had good luck with the postal service lately.....

I mailed cookies and goodies to my FIL at x-mas, and the postman joked with me that he may just keep that box, and then it took three weeks to get there, and I was beginning to think the postman had taken it! But where it was all that time, we will never know.

I knew a guy who used to work for the postal service and you should have heard some of the stories he told about how employees would get money out of envelopes with cards in them - crochet hook slipped in the very corner where they don't seal - and you couldn't even tell they had been tampered with...we have had a bad experience or two with things gone missing or the "opened when we received them" line - I never send anyone cash as a gift in their card now!

After two years of my dh getting a paycheck every week (or on occasion an unemployment check), two weeks in a row our mailman didn't deliver his check because he said he couldn't read the address (computer font on the envelope.) What an ordeal that was - we had to go to his employer and have new checks reissued because they said they never got them in return mail. Figure that one out!

Life should NOT be a jounrey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, latte in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming. "WOOHOO, what a ride!"
