of our poor flood ravaged state. This first one, Shafer State Park is about 10 miles from my home. Unbelievable that this is happening again.

UGH!!! Oh Sheri! What a total drag! You know the pictures are just amazing and I bet they only do the situation partial justice! Man o Man...I'm totally sending my positive vibes to you. On a MUCH lighter note.. are you planning to set up a booth at Farm Fair? I was hoping that if you were and if I'm accepted that we can somehow be near one another. I'm needing some inspiration. Your expertise is just the ticket I think. You and Rebekka Mae along with several others. You have a special knack though for girlie magic and I'm hoping some of it will rub off on me!! That hat you sent Aria..the green one with the white daisy is just too amazing for words!! love love love it! Here's celebrating you! ~julia hayes

Sheri I agree with you. My son is trucking from CA to WA every week with his dad hauling produce and I'm worried about him. They come up I-5 to Seattle on Thursdays or early Fridays and there sits a very expensive load of produce waiting for this to clear plus a delay in their time off, next load, etc. It's a shame that a few developers with money can override common sense and land use classifications...you just never know what weather is going to bring and it's best to be on the safe side.
I fret over all of the livestock in Lewis county and elsewhere where flooding is getting out of hand. It's not easy to move them quickly and figure out where to take them. Last year so many were lost and it broke my heart for the farmers and the livestock.

This is such a nightmare. It's very difficult to even watch this, day after day, on the national news. I cannot imagine living with this devastation. And to now, thanks to Sherri, realize that it isn't just some random act of Mother Nature, but has been precipitated by the actions of greedy corporations makes it so much worse.

It should be a casue Sherri, lived in Centraila area for a long time and it didn't use to flood as bad as it has done in the last 15 years. Yes, I never could figure out why in the world that did all that building of Walmart, and Home Deport and all the other stores they have there now when it always flooded there. Talked to my brother who lives in Chehalis, he was moving his son and girlfriend like crazy, their last load and their apartment was gaining water.....what a mess. They are all on high ground now, my sister has sand bags ready to roll......

Praying for you and your family over there too girlfriend.....no place for all that water to go..........

There is no way for the truckers to go period, all passes closed tonight from east to west, then the flooding no way to go north to south. How nuts is all this.....

Lots of people have already lost their homes Cheryl - mudslides and flooding - all happened since this morning. One elderly lady's house was hit with a mudslide - she was in there just with her little dog - and it pushed it right up against another house. The neighbor said the scary thing was she had a wood fire burning at the time and you could still see smoke coming out of the chimney of her crumpled house. I just talked to dh - he is just getting off work in downtown Seattle. We have been trying to figure out a way for him to make it home. There is still one road left open, if he goes to Shelton, then goes cross country - about an hour out of his way. Hopefully, that road won't be closed by the time he gets there! Alee - our house isn't in harms way for major flooding (like a river) but the ground water is getting pretty high in the front yard - about 8 inches or so. The street next to our house is closed.

This has been happening year after year lately. It used to only happen about once every 10 or 15 years, and then not to this extent. But, in the Centralia/Chehalis area at least, small town county comissioners, eager for "progress" to come to their area, ignored Mother Nature and allowed these huge mega stores, like WalMart and Home Depot, fill in a KNOWN flood plain, and guess what?!? - That water has to go somewhere. So where is it going now? Across I-5, to the tune of about 10 feet of water over the interstate which is the ONLY N/S thoroughfare for everyone to travel - including all the big trucks. So, commerce is brought to a grinding halt for up to a week (last year) because they can't go over the passes either and by-pass the area, as the passes are also closed. OK, I'm off my soap box now - can you tell it's a "cause" of mine?
