I always have good luck and better prices at the PO. I went to mail a package out not too long ago, that was going to cost me 8 at the PO and went to UPS bcuz it was closer. It cost me $16!!! Of course, UPS is cheaper if you want to get it there quicker. The PO charge 13.00+ for a regular letter to go next day whereas you can send a box for the same price and it get there in 2. ITs the PO for me. ;)

I have found the post office is better than UPS. I found that out the hard way. MB

Flat rate boxes from USPS are the bomb. My DH uses them for shipping motorcycle parts (e-bay) and saves huge. I use them for shipping to my active duty sons. You should see how much I can pack into those boxes. The postmaster always comments on the fact they lose money on me. UPS is good with odd size or weight boxes. We have never used FedX but that is only because they have delivered here at 8 at night and it was not a pleasant experience.

I have found the flat rate boxes at the post office a great deal. UPS seem to always be more expensive for me. But it might be that I ship alot ot the grandbabies in Alaska.

It depends on weight. If you are sending envelope sized things the Post office is good up until you hit the box sizes. If you are sending boxes, you should go to www.fedex.com and get an online account. They are free with a debit or credit card for payment. You then will bet oat least 15% off!
