I think they have the sweet smell of honey.

I have had and given MJF's beeswax candles in the jar and they are perfect....looking, smelling, and burning. I love them!

I am not sure what they smell like, but I am interested in making some. Does anyone know where I can buy beeswax at a good price? My brother wants to make the dipped candles.

another fun fact about beeswax is that it absorbs fragrances from its enviornment very easily, I am a soap maker and if my beeswax is exsposed to my essential/fragrance oils .. the beeswax takes on the smell and its amazing! Play around with that and see how it goes you can add a fragrance of your choice, but I love the way beeswax smells in raw form & we use it for a finish on our childrens wooden toys!! Beeswax rocks!

That's a good thought Nancy Jo. I'll try it in a wooden spool, but I've got two of these little candles so I'd still be glad to give you one. Just send me your address again and I'll send it out. I'm sure you've got all kinds of pretty little things that might hold it.

Amie, that is so nice of you!! I think you should try once more to find a holder for it, but if not you can send it my way and I would love to test it out. Is it real little? Maybe it would fit in a wooden thread spool.

Yes, I second everything you all are saying. I love them.

Nancy Jo, if you'd like to test one out before you buy some, I've got a little one that I could never find a candlstick to fit. I'd be glad to send it to you (I lit it, but it hasn't burned down much).

Nancy Jo- Once you start with beeswax candles you will always have them in your home- the smell is very subtle but wonderful. I love the ones Mary Jane sells in the little bell jars with zinc lids- we have them all over the house and they do last a very long time. The other nice thing about beeswax candles is that the light is warm, to me it is very different from paraffin candles.

They smell a bit like honey...that's about all I can say. It's not a sweet smell--maybe a little clovery? The ones I've had, anyhoo. I love real beeswax candles because they last so long--not the "rolled" type, the solid.
