The wind is still blowing but not as bad as yesterday. We had gusts up to 60 mph but today the gusts are about 45. The roof man called last night and is comming sometime today and is going to tarp the roof till I can contact my ins co. Then we'll decide the best course of action. We really want a metal roof instead of just repairing the shingles. It will lower our ins premiums so will save money in the long run. That is if we live long enough.

Don't have a clue what I'll do about the greenhouse. Will have the ins person take a look at it and see what can be done. It is attached to the shop so should be insured as part of the shop. Don't know. In the mean time the wind is still blowing and shingles are still flying.

WOW and I thought our wind was bad. Today we have 45 mile and hour ones and we had rain last night that froze so it is kinda slippery out there today and we will have lost 40 degrees in one day by the time tonight hits. I went out to mail some things and boy it is wicked wind. Good luck to you all and stay warm!!!

I really hope you get everything squared away. The yurt next to ours broke and ours has a 10 foot tear in the outer skin. If I were there I'd sew it up, but I've just come to town for a month or so. I hope things can be put back together quickly for folks who had damages from the storms. Baby, it's cold outside!

I don't think we'll get a new roof before it rains. I just hope he did a good job of nailing down the tarp. We are supposed to get moisture on Tues. With the way the temp is falling, any moisture will be sleet or snow. I guess that will be OK. It will help hold down the tarp. I don't have to worry about snow buildup on the greenhouse roof. It is mostly blown away. What is left will have to be replaced along with the part that is gone.

My goodness, you have a mess on your hands. Thank goodness it's not raining. We're supposed to get more here, so I hope it doesn't head your way. We'll try to hold it off till you get your roof fixed, ok?

I hope the ins. covers everything for you.

It has been really windy here too! My sister's house that is 5 hours south got tornado force winds though a funnel never formed. Their trampoline got blown over some Silos and lots of things got blown around.

The roof man got here just before noon. He and his helper brought a tarp that goes the length of the house. Got it all covered. He said that if we had gotten just a little rain we would have had ceiling dammage here in the office. The wind blew even the tarpaper off and the wood was exposed. Now I take his report to the ins co tomorrow and then wait for the adjuster to come and decide what to do next. The roof man said there was roof damage everywhere and he had 5 more places to go today.

I am going out and take some pics to send to my sister who lives near Houston. They just got their roof fixed and last week they got the ceiling in the LR and BR replaced. As soon as the carpet cleaners get done, they will be back to normal. I guess we had our own little hurricane. It just didn't have a name and we didn't get to be on TV.
