I was looking at our town's blog, ligonier living and just having odd feelings regarding the murderer. I am usually black or white when it comes to people doing wrong. This guy had ahem relations with this old man and then murdered him, we suspect there's more to that story. I feel so bad cause he didn't have a good family and then this old man preying on him since he was 14. Then preying on his brother. I'm thinking of the holidays and how sad it is for those that don't get to rejoice. I guess what I'm getting at is I know this murder was wrong, but I also know messing with kids is wrong too. It's weighing in on my heart. I just had to get this out and you all are so great and wonderful. I love you gals! xox

Well there were other articles....and history that is known in the town. IDK apparently there was a ton of nasty stuff in the house when the firemen went in. He did have a relation with him for several years and an inappropriate one.

I'm getting something entirely different from this story. The young man never had a relationship with this older guy. In fact, he only knew him from walking by the older guy's apartment when visiting relatives. Why did he keep walking by his apartment if he was so offended? Why did he take his younger brother by this man's apartment and put him in such a position if he was so outraged? Not to mention, why not tell another adult, like an adult relative he was visiting?

Then he makes the decision, after getting drunk, to walk by again, and he ends up going inside -- at 18 years of age -- and consenting to sex, during which he gets ticked and kills the older guy.

I'm sorry, but I'm not feeling much pity for either party involved. Fourteen year olds who are old enough to yell comments about someone being a pedophile are obviously old enough to be aware of the old man's intent. This boy could have made different choices 14 years ago and then again the day of the murder.

This is not a person who had been the victim of pedophilia and finally snapped.

Some people search for happiness; others create it.

Here's the article : http://www.pittsburghlive.com/x/tribunereview/news/westmoreland/s_599488.html

If you care to read it. I mean it just makes me think. I'm huge on animal and child advocacy. Those are the two that I can't stand when people mess with them. Well and elderly people. I mean 18 year old and 75 year old man.....

The kid 18 is still kid to me will never have a good life and never know the good of things (which I doubt he ever did). I can't help but feel selfish with a wonderful family and love and joy in my heart. :(

This sounds like something that happened to a friend's nephew just a few months ago here. This boy is only about 20 and an older man kept messing with him. I think there were drugs involved and more than likely the older man was asking for "favors" from him. Well, the police found the old guy murdered in his house and the young guy was arrested fot it. Apparently he had been molested when he was a young child and he probably just snapped. I have not heard anything else about it since.

It is so sad what children go through. It happens so much. I'll be thinking of you.

yep, when I was younger I was either black or white on most subjects....and it was easy to make up my mind on something and feel like my opinion was right...but as I got older I could see more shades of gray (not just in my hair neither!)...and things were not quite as easy to decide or form opinions about....there are so many things that can weigh on your heart, thank you for sharing, I know just how you feel...
