Posted - Nov 27 2005 : 07:44:44 AM This year as any other my huisband and I play host for both of our families. I got going about 4:30 and cleaned the turkey etc. We normally grill the turkey out on the gas grill, but this year the winds were just howling and 20 degrees felt like 0. so decided to do it in the oven. At 10:00 a pulled out the turkey and put in the ham. At 10:25 the power went out. To my amazement, I didn't panic or get mad, just did the things I needed to do. I really started to enjoy how quiet the house was, it is so enjoyable not hearing the constant din of things.
By 11:15 the power wasn't on yet and decided to go to the shed and get the generator by the time I got it started and was about to start plugging in things, on came the power. I finished everything on time and everything was hot. We enjoyed each others company and had a wonderful day.
I would like to think God wanted me to notice what I have and everything around me and decided 10:25AM on Thanksgiving was a good time. I think I past that little test. KarenP
