Tomorrow is Monday. What are you planning on doing?

I am going to continue on with waging war against my house. I _will_ get all the laundry finished up (only a few loads worth) get Nora's room cleaned ( I need to figure out a way to keep her from unpacking her dresser every day!) and get my sewing room cleaned up.

Those are the big chores. I also have some sorting and such to do like packing up too small clothes items and organizing things to be moved out in a little over a month. We are trying to find a better rental. If we have to stay here, so be it, but we want to be ready so we aren't trying to do most of the packing during the holidays.

I hope someone has more fun planned than I do!!

I am working on some new designs. I just settled on a cute little skirt - let's see if I can describe it. Top is recycled jeans, then the first ruffled tier of the skirt is a cowboy print - blue with boots, hats, and lassos, the bottom ruffle is red with rope through it. Then I sewed a piece of jute over the seams where the tiers meet and added a little wound up lasso at the side seam. Really turned out cute! Besides that, boring housecleaning! YOu can see where my interest lies, huh?

OMG Bridget - Christmas Cards!! I don't even want to think about it, 'cause at work we send out about 500 ALL hand addressed and with a little note. Guess who gets that job because she has nice penmenship and can spell, so fewer ruined envelopes. ME!!

finishing "peoney in love" by lisa see....it is for my book club that will meet this thursday night. it is okay.....not the greatest book i've read, but different.... anyway, i will return to this "site" tomorrow so that i can get motivated to clean room by room, getting ready for the holidays! FUN News: i'm not quite as motivated cleaning this house at the immediate moment....we are looking at 34 acres (we currently have 7) and possibly building a barn/house and getting some animals and chickens. the farm of my own section is really getting to me!!

This morning I did a little picking up (seven grand kids here off and on for four days),started laundry, stripped beds for more laundry. Got ready for work and will work until 5:45. Sometime during today I will set up a meeting for the Historic Preservation Commission, run to thrift shop at lunch time, get Christmas ornament projects ready for Artists meeting Tuesday night, go to the post office, prepare glass for the kiln.
I'll have to fix dinner, clean up the kitchen, and do more laundry too. Yikes, I need a twin or a clone. Sage :)

It's amazing reading how busy everyone is, including myself. When you list everything that we do in a day, it is huge.
I once listed every single chore I did during the day to present to my husband. Not that he thinks I'm lazy, but he doesn't 'get' just how much I do, and until recently, that included working full-time.

Until recently, HIS list looked like: eat, work, eat, watch movie, sleep - interspersed with time spent with me
.
Now, of course, he is building our house and working extremely hard, so I can't bug him about not doing anything!

My cats' list: sleep, eat, play, sleep, eat, play, etc etc

For the chickens and the geese, just remove 'play!'

I obey the three 'C's of life: Cats, Chocolate, and Chickens

Happy Birthday Diana from me too!!

Well I didn't get all my chores done this weekend, but housework is something that I never get finished with. There's always something to do. But at least I made some headway. I'm going to visit with Mom after work today for a bit then go home and cook and do more laundry. I'm also going to get online and visit here more this evening. I've been missing everyone. Hope you all have a good Monday!

After my busy weekend (planted 500 bulbs, winter squash, weeded, made new pea trellises, grocery store, Home Depot, cleaned my room, house maint, cooked and cut and wrapped meat I got on sale), Monday at work will feel like a relief. I do have to take the dog to the vet this evening and will have DD put the crockpot on for dinner.

Belle- I wish I lived closer! I would come over and help you get all your canning desires finished up! Those cows don't need the apples! ;)

Glad to hear you farmgirls are winning the war on house cleaning. I didn't even get in the fight. In fact, I am in the process of waving the white flag of surrender. Called a neighbor yesterday and he came and got most of the tomatoes. Tried to give him some apples but no. I started working on apples yesterday and finally said I'm done! Made a whopping 2 cups of applebutter. Still have 2 5 gal buckets full in the utility room. If I don't get any takers, I'll feed them to the cows. So, today I'll be working on the utility room. Haven't seen the floor for at least a month. I'll be washing up all the big pans that I used while canning and the pressure cooker and they will go to the celler. The pressure cooker will not be down there long because I plan to make a big batch of Veg soup and will can a cooker full.

Got my new issue of MaryJanesFarm this morning so this afternoon will be several hours of down time. I am even going to shut off the phone.

Happy Birthday, Diana!

Congrats, Lisa on the new job! That is great!

Kristin- I help my elderly neighbor twice a week. She insists on paying me even though I told her I would help for free.

Tina- Sounds like you have a lovely day ahead of yourself!

Tammy- It sounds like our days are going to be similar!

Rene- That is such a good idea. I am working on the balance as well. The lack of balance is what got my house in this condition in the first place! LOL

Happy birthday, Diana. Hope you have a great day!

And good luck on your new job, Lisa.

Monday has always been my favorite day of the week. When my kids were little I was so happy to see Monday come around. I got them off to school and stared cleaning the house and running errands and I loved it! Such a great day.

I just got done with all my morning animal chores. I let the calves out in the yard to eat the new green grass coming up. I let them in the yard a few days last week, too, but they like being in with the goats more. I'm working on getting them into the pasture next door. It needs to be bush hogged first, though.

I think today I have to work for my friend up the road with her parents. It is really a very worthwhile thing to do. Older people are very interesting to me. I go at 10:00-12:00, then 2:00- 4:00, then again at 6:00-8:00 3 days at a time. I feel like I work full time though with all the running I have to do.

Ya'll have a great day today! Kris

Happy Birthday Diana.

Let's see, my day will look something like this:

Get up
Check e-mail
Feed and water button quail
Crochet for a little while
Start a new Muslin Bunny
Get a gazillion phone calls from my mother
Make lunch
Crochet some more
Make dinner
Check e-mail

Oh, and I might do some cleaning somewhere in there. LOL

Happy Birthday, Diana! You enjoy your day.

Well, my vacation is over and I have to go back to work today. It has been getting to be quite the grind the past few months but I start a new position as the Judge's clerk today! After 9 years of being the Fine Enforcement Officer and Supreme Court Appeals clerk, I am really ready for a change! So, I get to teach the new gal that was hired while I was on vacation to do all the stuff I've become so burned out on. I think this change will do me good.

Alee. I won the war on my house, SAT and SUN. Changed furniture around, winterized the patios, decks and did some deep cleaning, washed the drapes, etc. SO am I am feeling good about that. My desk is piling up tho. Which I dont mind, as I love all that. I have been "forcing" myself to walk away from it at 5:00 and leaving it, since I work out of the house it is easy to just keep working .............But I am trying to find balance. Usually I hit the computer at 6:00 am and am still at "something" at 11:00... but with the need to "move" more, I am trying to not turn the computer on until 8:00 am, allowing me time to really focus on Matthew ( youngest) in the morning, then walking the dog and getting dishes done before sitting down at the desk.... then reminding myself to get out again go for an afternoon walk and eating some lunch and then getting back to it.............I think "balance" is the biggest challenge... with that said, I am off to the TUB!
