Posted - Nov 06 2008 : 2:12:20 PM I hate to say that to my husband, but he is not feeling well today, I think he has a simple, cold.. But you know how men are..or mine is anyway. He has a very low pain tolerance and hates to take anything to relieve his discomfort, He would rather complain that he has a "raw sore throat" a croupy cough, and a splitting headache. He hates me to "mother him," but I can't stand to have him feel sickly.. I really think he is a whimp, so I say "Honey, Cowboy up, take a shower, bundle up in your sweats & drink some tea... basically Get er done!" Or shut the bedroom door and SLEEP!

Posted - Nov 09 2008 : 2:40:41 PM Oh My Husband is well now..and He does get over his ailments rather quickly, especially if I stop asking how he is feeling... & change the subject , I keep a list going of the things we need to do or things I want him to do..Ya know the guilt card comes in handy sometimes! I know I am BAD

Posted - Nov 09 2008 : 07:25:49 AM Men are just born bigger complainers and with the need to be babied. Heaven forbid if they had to bare the children. It is a good thing that God made us the strong one when it comes to handling pain. Cheryl I hope your hubby is up and moving by now. It's funny that we don't get to lie in the bed for days when we are sick...no...meals, house work, and what ever has to keep going. My husband is an EMT and can help anyone but himself when it comes to sickness. He is gentle, kind, and understanding but when he gets a sniffle it is the end of the world and the worst ever. Just got to love them!

Posted - Nov 07 2008 : 2:41:39 PM Oh Corrine, that is wildly funny about your son.
Mine just looks at me and knows better than to complain. Ok, we have been married 25 years, and when he feels rotten he really does. So since we both are gimp a longs we give each other lots of grace. The funny thing is he gets a cold, does a hot toddy and he is done, seriously, done. I do that and I still have it for 7 more days. Now that is just not fair!!!!! LOL

Posted - Nov 07 2008 : 09:39:13 AM My husband's feeling a little under the weather as well. Oh boy....he likes being mothered though....I quietly think it's hilarious, he's such a tough guy around everyone else...

Posted - Nov 06 2008 : 4:56:35 PM LOL I thought my guy was the only one that refuses to take medicine when needed. However, in one faucet we really mesh. He is totally willing to take herbal supplements when he is sick since that is how is mom always treated the boys. So he is totally into the Echinacea, golden seal, elderberry mix that I bought when we moved here.

Posted - Nov 06 2008 : 4:55:51 PM Mine, too. Mine WANTS me to baby him, but I have little patience for someone who thinks they're dying when they have a cold! Especially, when he won't do anything about it for himself.
