I am very excited to announce the launch of my National Tie One On Day, celebrated on Thanksgiving eve. The message of this Day is sharing and gratefulness, and participation does not require that you purchase something special or even drive! It's an annual opportunity to Tie One On...an apron, of course! and share a smidgen of your bounty with someone in need of physical or spiritual sustenance.

As encouragement to your participation in National Tie One On Day, I'm offering 15 giveaways, including vintage aprons from my very own personal collection! Giveaway Entry is simple. Just visit www.apronmemories.com for details.

I hope many, many of you will embrace this Day and thereby make someone else's day a little brighter.

xxEllynAnne

The kitchen counters are ridiculously filled with food-in-progress because I'm actually parceling food for a Tie One On Day Thanksgiving dinner from the dishes that I'm preparing for our own celebration. I was moved to "parcel" after seeing a national newscast showing the huge number of people standing in line at food pantries around the nation, and their sheer appreciativeness at receiving a bag of potatoes. Oh, to have but a bit of bounty to share.

Ok, I am soooo excited for tomorrow,,,to sneak over to some of my elderly neighbors to drop off some baked goodies and dish towels ( for Jim) and 1/2 or Hostess aprons as we call them for my other to neighbors.
I have my lavender sachets tucked in as well.
In fact I am having such fun, that I made a quick(or not so quick) dash into town to the Joanns fabric store to get some more fun Holiday fabric to make into some quick aprons as last minute gifts....sew,,,I'll be in my sewing room the rest of the evening. Oh and a lot of the fabric was anywheres from 30 to 60% off! yippeeee!
Have a Wonderful National Tie One On day.

ok, so I have changed my mind(gee there is a surprize!)again and instead of the pumpkin cookies I am going to borrow MaryJane Lee's 'monkey bread/sticky buns' recipe that she posted on her blog....way to easy & I can divide the recipe for the 2 elderly neighbors. I have the two cute kitchen towels & 2 baskets already to go. I will be wearing one of my aprons when delivering the buns. Come on 26th!

Ellynanne, I wear an apron almost every day. In addition to the ones I've made, my Mother in Law gave me many vintage ones that were her mothers and grandmothers. One goes back to EARLY 1900's.
I will plan a special yeast roll for Thanksgiving, and as I do every week, will share my baked goods with atleast one of my neighbors.

ok, so I experimented on the gals last nite w/a Oatmeal Pumpkin cookie receipe, & they went over very well, only 1 cookie left on the plate...so instead of datenut bread I think I will make a double batch of these Oatmeal Pumpkin cookies and drop some off at two homes,,,I found some sweet tea towels in my stash of goodies that I can warp them in. Since one of the recipients is a very elderly man I don't think he'll be in need of an apron. haha!
I can hardly wait for the 26th to get here. Wahooo! I'm gonna Tie One On!
Oh! & if you check out MaryJane Lee's Beehive Cottage blog, she has a simple yummy recepie of cinnemon rolls that is quick & yummy!
