I am waiting for my mail carrier to come. I have a few things going out, and I am really hoping for something to be coming today. Somedays they get here right away and one day the mail came at about 5pm!

When does your mail carrier usually come?

Sherri- I am sure it was my packing job that was no good. Fed-Ex is usually really great. You can have them pack it for you if you want (it costs a bit though) and pay for extra insurance. Also have them put a ridiculous number of fragile stickers all over them. Let the counter person know they are very fragile, priceless antiques and they will make sure they get there!

Also, make sure you double box them. That way if the outer box gets dented or crushed a little (I have only had this happen twice in probably over 200 boxes that I have sent out) the inner box will still be fine and it also helps to cushion the shipping movements.

You can also buy special dish packing supplies at places like U-Haul. They really work and I highly recommend them.

We live 10 miles from town. We had the same mailman for years--you could set your clock by him. You never had to make a second or third trip to the mailbox to see if it had come yet. He retired--we haven't had a consistent mailman since, as well as no consistent mail time. They do put any packages on the front porch instead of laying it beside the box.

It is no joke "Larkspur Funny Farm" has the same mail man as in the movie "Funny Farm".... You can never know when, where, how or even if you will get the mail. I have lodged formal complaints, called till the post office number is on speed dial and still no change. Saturday he left three packages at the end of my driveway which is a very long driveway - again - when I called they said they would talk to him and today my mail was in the ditch. So no good mail here!!

Oh Alee - I don't want to hear that - I have two boxes of dishes ready to send out to Wilma as soon as I have a car to get to Olympia. Old Blue Willow dishes, I"m so scared they're going to get broken enroute!

*taps fingers* Fed-Ex broke a package and I want to send the farmgirl out a replacement, but I am waiting for the insurance check. I had called them last time they had to mail me something and told them my new address, but they still mailed the first check to Idaho! So I was hoping to get the check today, but I guess I have to wait!

We have to have a po box. There is no physical mail delivery here. The mail is usually all out in the boxes by 1:30. Unless the truck coming up from Boise is late for some reason.

Watching the mailbox is like watching the pot to come to a boil ;)
