When dh & I went to Canton Trade Days last August, I bought a rolling shopping cart. It's not like a store shopping cart -- tall & square on 4 wheels. The back wheels are a bit larger than the front wheels, and there's a handle that sticks up on the back. I splurged and bought a gorgeous oilcloth liner with ribbon ties, and it's a perfect fit for my house, color-wise.

Here's the problem. Since our trip, it's been folded up and stored under the bed. I have a vintage laundry hopper (white metal that I bought when visiting Frannie in KY), so I don't need another laundry hamper. But I'm trying to use simplify my life, using the things I have and getting rid of things I no longer use. Plus, I love the cart/oilskin liner, and I want to use this cart somehow. I have a small cottage, and I'm not creative, so I'm asking for your suggestions. What would you use this for or what can you suggest for me to use it for?

oh sorry just noticed you mentioned it had ribbon ties and a pretty oil cloth cover..scratch that fire wood idea..I'd use it to hold blankets/quilts and throws and stack those all neatly then on the top have one a pretty silver tray with a tea pot and a couple of tea cups/saucers or mugs sitting on the tray..that way you have everything all in one spot for a quick cup of tea or cocoa

could you use it to hold your blankets and throws and pillows for your couch?you could store little toss pillows and throws and blankets for folks to be able to sit around and chat with a cup of cocoa and if they get chilled... you have everything handy.
another idea might be to use it to hold fire wood next to your fireplace if you have one...and if it is sturdy enough.

Alee, it's a wire frame with an oilcloth liner, about 3' deep, so I'm not sure how that would work. Gift wrap, etc., is a possibility. Hmmm . . . :)

You could Store your giftwrap in it. The tall rolls & You could use one of the empty roll tubes to stack rolls of gift ribbon and keep everything in one place.
