Posted - Oct 31 2008 : 1:34:12 PM Ok I know I am a year older, but I would hope along with that comes wisdom.. I purchased reader glasses before I left to come to Colorado. Wouldn't ya know it this Broad broke both new pair. So I go over to the $ store to refill my growing supply at home and Where do you think I put them? I do Not Know... I have checked my suitcase, under the bed, in the trash... 2 pair I say 2 pair lost... Do any of you (older mature women) have this problem? I have a pair at home next to the computer, in the bathroom next to the tweezer mirror..In the kitchen on the counter by the microwave.. I can't believe they print things so little on the how to instructions inside the door... um I also have a pair next to my bed for nighttime reading.. And probably a pair in my car under my seat...... now where did I put the new ones???? Oh for crying out loud... I found one pair.. (on my head) good Grief! It is time to go home....

Posted - Nov 02 2008 : 4:56:49 PM I buy them at Costco, the cheapest I've found...3 pair at a time...I have one everywhere, next to the sewing machine, in my knitting satchel, the nightstand, in my purse and one in the kitchen and I am still just like you...always looking for a pair!
Then I went to buy some more the other day and I forgot I was not wearing my contacts, duh, you'd think the glasses on my face would tell me I was not wearing my contacts but instead I kept taking my glasses off to try the reading cheaters on and they were all not "right" in strength. I don't need them when I don't have my contacts in. Another duh moment. It's heck getting old! Jami in WA

Posted - Nov 02 2008 : 4:46:10 PM Boy am I glad I am not alone.. Sometimes I think I'm losing it completely. I just returned home from Colorado, left that little baby and I also left a pair of glasses... See what I mean? Glad i bought 3 pair at the dollar store... First thing DH said to me when he met me at the airport was " I see you have ANOTHER pair of new glasses!" I just smiled & gave him a huge Kiss!

Posted - Nov 01 2008 : 6:54:12 PM I understand your frustration. I lost a brand new pair of glasses on my honeymoon 6 years ago. I'm blind as a bat, so they cost a small fortune. I wear contacts most of the time and I've learned to always put my glasses in their case & store them in the same space. It has worked nicely, haven't lost a pair in ages now!

Posted - Nov 01 2008 : 3:28:44 PM LOL! I am always patting my boobs looking for my glasses! They are always on a chain around my neck and heaven help me if I take them off! I have stopped wearing jewelry around my neck because between my bodacious boobs and my glasses perched on them, who needs more bling? I never wore glasses until my 40th birthday. Now 11 years later I am a bat without them!!

Posted - Nov 01 2008 : 3:16:01 PM Way back when I only had reading glasses I put them on one of those chains that hangs around your neck. Now I have trifocals and put them on in the morning and they stay there until I go to bed at night, or sometimes until the middle of the night when I wake up and realize I still have them on. They don't seem to make dreams any clearer..... :-)

Posted - Oct 31 2008 : 7:06:47 PM I'm always looking for my reader glasses! I have a pair for upstairs and one for downstairs. They're the cheapie ones you buy in the drug store. I'll go crazy looking around, only to find they're on top of my head or hanging on my shirt collar. Drives me crazy! I need to get one of those leashes you hang around your neck. lol

Posted - Oct 31 2008 : 3:15:36 PM I used to need reading glasses when I worked as a supervisor at a research place. Always reading screens, small print and bad handwriting exhausted my eyes. My eye doctor took pity on me and said the best deal was the reading glasses at Target or Wal-Mart. Good thing too because I was always losing or breaking mine!

I think they've run off with my car keys - which have been missing since last weekend
I have no problem with glasses, 'cause I can't see a darn thing without them
They turn up - eventually! |

Posted - Oct 31 2008 : 2:14:55 PM LOL!! I have only one pair of reading glasses, prescription glasses so quit "expensive", but I sometimes forget where I put them too, hehe And my regular glasses even! I sometimes walk all morning with my reading glasses and don't know where I put my regular ones, lol.
They both are about the same strength now, but will need new ones next month (November) My regular ones need stronger glasses AND my reading ones too. Might go for the combined this time.
Hugs from Marian/Dutchy, a farmgirl from the Netherlands :)
