Yes...I have a blog....and suddenly I have nothing to say! LOL! I hope it doesn't last or it is going to be a very boring blog! Today is day #1 so don't expect much but take a look! Any ideas are appreciated! Pictures tomorrow???
Do I need a theme, stay on one topic or just document my life on a daily basis? I'm suddenly thinking I may not be that interesting! Uh Oh! Can you sell things on it or give away things? Maybe Ineed a BLOG MENTOR?

Yeah, that's the way to do it. Not to worry about how often you post. I used to worry about it. But, now 6 years later, I see even if I made a post only once a week or even only once a month it gives me something to look back on.

Gosh, we need a special blogging section I think! All of the information here is very helpful. I started a blog a couple of months back and was also a bit intimidated but now I post when I feel like it and enjoy sharing pictures of crafts or maybe some flea market finds. Perhaps a favorite recipe with the history behind it or even a thought for the day. I do know that I'm not going to agonize about posting on a regular basis, too many other fun things to keep me from doing that!
So, Sandra, maybe take lots of photos of all kinds of things, keep a little note-book and when you have an idea, jot it down. I have found that this helps as when you sit here looking at the screen it can be a bit overwhelming!
Good luck!

Lisa, Blogger is free! And it's easy! Can't get much better than that. I had no clue either when I started mine, but it was so easy to just poke around. Make a mistake? No problem, you can edit! If I can do it, so can you!

Hey sisters...I want a blog....what do I need to do? Where do I start? How much $$$ does it cost? I have very limited computer skills, but I'm a fast learner if someone will hold my hand getting started...

Even if you think it's boring write it!

I have had a blog for years. I have to say I thought my life was pretty boring. Really I did. Six years ago when I started mine, I really didn't think I had anything to talk about. Then, about 2 1/2 years ago I abandoned my blog. I came back to it a month or so ago. I read back to 2002. It really gave me insight on how I've grown! Emotionally, mentally etc. I sure wish I hadn't abandoned it. I abandoned it, cause I thought I was boring. Really I should of kept it up. Cause I learned a lot about myself rereading all those years of thoughts. So just do it. Just write what you are thinking about and what you are doing.

I find the best subject/theme is YOU, your life.

Also add as many pictures as you can. It makes it a lot more fun, for you to review and others to read!

I also really like having mine go to a yahoogroup, that way I have a back up history/archive, in case something was to happen to it on blogger. (It's happened to friends of mine! Losing ALL their archives, through some glitch, and never able to get them back!). I have a yahoogroup which is also free, that I have all of the posts go to. Then any one who wants can also subscribe to my blog. The only thing is, if you don't want them to reply you need to put the yahoo group, as a moderator only posting group. That's what I have. So only my blog post go, and others can't reply on the group. They can leave a comment on my blog if they want though.

Also ANY one can leave a comment on your blog Nancy, it just depends on what you have your comments set to. I have had my blog since 2002, so I'm operating it old school style, the new ones are a bit different. So I can't tell you exactly how to get to the comment properties, unless you are using the old format. But, any way find the comment properties, when you are editing your blog, and you can choose if only blog members can leave a comment, or if any one can. I chose for any one to, cause many of my friends don't have a blogger blog. That way they can leave a comment with out any problems. I had it on moderated comments only for a while to. But, decided it wasn't worth it. Back in the day used to have a lot of spam, not any more. If I start getting spammed again I'll rethink that. But, for now it seems friendly, and I get a email every time some one post a comment so I can either delete it or leave it any way. So no real need to have every one on moderated. (plus back in the day I had to use a outside source to have comments on my blog, now blog offers it all there for you, so it's easier to moderate comments, I don't have to sign in to a different account on a different server, I can just sign into my blog and edit comments.).

My personal opinion of blogs is that they are like the old "dear diary" types of things, only with pictures. They contain a person's take on life, what's happening on a daily basis, kids and their activities, and many other things. I enjoy reading the blogs, especially those kept up to date.

Kristin,
I believe to leave a comment on a blog, you have to have a blog of your own. You can read all the blogs you want to but can't leave a comment.

I left a comment. And like I said there, just write about what you see, do and feel or think. It is always difficult to start with a new blog, but once there, it is "difficulter" to stop, lol (just made up that word too)

I just know you will be fine. A blog is a Web Log--say it fast and you have blog. So it is a journal of sorts or not. Whatever you want it to be. I know most people would like to see a picture about what you might be talking about. It is whatever!! I left you a comment. MB

Hey, Sam, I tried to leave you a comment on your blog, but I am computer stupid. I can't figure stuff out. It's something about the password. Not sure what password to use.

Anyway, I just wanted to give you a little encouragement. I know it's a little intimidating to do something new, but just do it. I'd like to have a blog myself. May do it one day.

So happy blogging! Kris

I have found the most interesting blogs the one's that just pick a topic and go with it. It can be anything from the color Pink to pictures of toes to your favorite shirt...anything goes!! Let loose and be free...I look at blogs at the release of the inner soul- not so formal and structured but fun and quirky!!! : )
