Bonjour, gal pals! Being computer deprived for a coupla weeks shows me how much has been happening here on the farm that I missed! Back home in Norfolk now, dust bunnies under control again, my favorite colored pansies in pots on the porch.....back yard is another story, but heck, the sun is shining so out I go! Just got online and saw this thread, and want to add my own post to 'officially' congratulate Miss October! A perfect embodiment of the farmgirl spirit she is! Hugs and happy fall to all, Nance

Frannie,
I am so very very very glad this is helping you and encouraging you. It is just what we need when life has thrown us for a loop or too. It sure did help me, glad it is doing the same for you Miss October. Hmmm, I am thinking we should have stashes, oopppss sashes with our Month on them. LOL, ok the stash would be chocolate!!!!! Ok, yes, craving some and the darn stash is done did dryed up....lol. So made some zuchinni bread from my last little zuchinnis from last Tuesday cause it froze!!!!
That oughta help that sweet tooth of mine.
Ok, march on Miss October!!!!!

update from "miss october" as dh has started calling me.
first i have to say a BIG thankyou to meg and maryjane for the lovely gift, a wonderful t-shirt and a chocolate bar. would show a pic of the chocolate bar, but it didnt last long. it was one of maryjanes products and had nuts and a little coconut and was soooo delicious. nothing like chocolate to make a girl feel special! also got a great crafting assortment of thingys from nancy jo, which olivia glombed on to and was ooohing and ahhhing at, and a beautiful postcard from nance in france of a sleeping spinnner....how apropos!
sure wish i was spinning more and sleepin less, but did go get a therapeutic blood "letting" this week and felt better right away. seems i will probably have to do that once a month. i would thank monsanto chemical company for the priviledge of having to do this, but i dont want to.
anyhow, next week i will start again with the new doctors and believe we will have an answer about the possible breast cancer. and i will meet on wednesday with the cardiologist to see if i will be taking medicine or surgery.
i feel more armed to tackle this life journey with the thoughts and prayers of you farmgirls and i must say once again to carol and the kentucky farmgirls a very greatful thank you for making me feel so special and what a help it has been to be "miss October " through this whole experience. put a smile on my face and a warm fuzzy in my heart.
love,love,love, to all.

Congrtulations, Frannie. You have been through alot lately and you're right about everyone lifting you up. Lots of great people on here. I've had lots of good laughs, just reading some of these posts and I always come away feeling better.

Hope the rest of your Oct. is full of good things and lots of love, too.

I am not familiar with the farmgirl of the month, either, but it sounds like a nice thing to do.

Good thoughts coming your way, Miss Frannie!

Dearest Frannie, this wonderful group of gals sure does pull one out of that lonely place. I too had pulled away from 'life' in my new retirement. But one day I found this wonderful place and it has given my life new meaning! I know that is a cliche but it is so true, isn't it Frannie? I know you know what I mean. These wonderful women support who we are without a question about where we 'come from'. They don't care, they just love us unconditionally. Isn't that wonderful? That's the way it's suppose to be in this world but often isn't. I just can't get over the love in this place! Farmgirls sending little gifties to total strangers, sharing woes, strifes, out and out pain, their creative ventures, their joys, love of family and the state of the union. Where else can you get this, yes, family. Some of us don't have close family relationship for one reason or another but we have Mary Jane's Farmgirls!!!
I don't know you Frannie, but I have love and concern for you just the same. I will keep you in my prayers and thoughts. Karen

Find your joy and live it. http://cheneybaglady.blogspot.com/

hi carol and so glad you made it back home. i thought those gals were gonna keep you for sure in kentucky, and then wondered what kinda posse the washington gals would be sending out to get you back.
i enjoyed so much keeping up with all the goings on at miss wilma's ..
hoping next year to join yall.
have really enjoyed being the october farmgirl. i keep telling my husband,,,,I'm miss october, and he just grins at me.
when he was named union president, i spent a month following him around and humming "Hail to the chief!"
i am still feelin boosted by the farmgirl power, and wont have to return for doctors visits until next week and then the 21st to meet the oncologist in dallas, so until then, i am just having so much fun being " miss october"
thanks again, and hope to post some farm pics this week.

Hey Frannie,
You have made me cry good girl, and it was a good cry, because you put in words what I couldn't seem to say when Ronna passed the scepter on to me. Dealing with the unknown and with constant pain, can just plain wear a body down. I understand that part.
I truthfully had been really thinking and yes, praying about who to pass this on to, you came to mind and heart.
Yes, gave Jonni hugs!!!!! She is family to me along with Miss Wilma and Janice and the other gals that were there.
Next year girl!!!!!!! I better start saving my pennies like crazy cause hubby and daughter and grand daughters want to go, and go we will.
So heres to you girl!!!!! have a wonderful month.

woke up this morning with a new perspective and have to believe it was because i felt the power of the farmgirls!
my email was full of wonderful wishes and that was a great beginning for my day.
as many may know my days have been taken over by fear and then not to be a downer for every one, i chose to post less and not participate so much here. to isolate somewhat in my little world of woe is me.
but then the farmgirls started sending prayers and well wishes my way and that was a big help....and then carol sue picked me to be the farmgirl of the month....and that is definitely bringing me out of the doldrums.
i dont have an answer for what it means to be the farmgirl of the month, but i do feel that it is helping to remind me that while being a farmgirl is a "condition of the heart" it does us no good to be alone and not share what is in our heart. so we can be a farmgirl alone, but sharing that condition gives it even more power to those around us and to ourselves as well.
thanks so much to all the farmgirls that have shared their farmgirl spirit with me. it is a very powerful force indeed, it has the power to change the way we feel if we choose to accept the good thoughts that come with it.
i am no different really than i was two days ago, before carol sue and the gals from kentucky decided to acknowledge me, but i FEEL differently because i know that i have a lot of good wishes coming my way, good farmgirl wishes, and that is powerful indeed. i feel like if we put our minds and hearts to anything it would be possible.
farmgirls rule.
thank you all for your sweet sentiments.

well, first i have to say a big thank you, and well honestly, it was a big surprise, and i am almost ashamed to say, couldnt have happened at a better time.
i have been overwhelmed the last two months, and the biggest thing has been fear and feelin a little too sorry for myself.
so i guess the farmgirl spirit has pulled me through cause i am not feelin so blue anymore.
i have dealt with alot of the woes by kinda isolating and reading the post but not really posting to anyone, and now i realize that we do need to support one another, cause i see how good it feels when you know that others are thinking of you.
so a big thank you to you all, and i hope you girls in kentucky are having a ball, and i hope that next year i will be right there with ya.
and if ya get a chance please all of you give jonni a big hug for me, i miss her so much here.
and thank you so much carol sue for thinking of me. it means alot to me.
