Hey! If any of y'all reside within driving distance of Abilene, I'll be there Sunday-Wednesday for the opening of my apron exhibit. Apron Chronicles is not just a show of aprons - it's more the American experience as translated through the fabric of the domestic icon. I worked on this thing for 5 years, never imagining it would be more than a humble exhibit I'd drive around and share with women's organizations. To have it reach the status of a bonafide exhibition is thrilling. You can see its essence at www.apronchronicles.com. In person, it is a powerful juxtaposition of fabric, storytelling and photography. Hope to see somebody from here there!

I wish I could sprout wings & fly to Abilene to see the exhibit...as well as enjoy some of that nice warm Texas weather.
I loved reading you book, The Apron Chronicles...it is wonderful to hear/read peoples sharings on what is so important about an apron be it their mom's, dad's, granny's or a dear friend dying from cancer...all are wonderful insights.

I wish could see the exhibit, things this interesting seldom wend their way to midcoast Maine. I do have your apron book and the Apron Chronicle one too, they are such treasures. I'm still trying to find my childhood apron that my grandmother made me. My mother put it in a" safe "place years ago, and it has never been seen since! Those aprons hold such memories...

Hi EllynAnne!

I did find where to post!!! However, for some reason Yahoo wouldn't let me post......I have had trouble posting comments since the first posting I did after signing up with Yahoo to do so. Perhaps my posting here would allow me to put my name in the hat? My family moved from the East Coast to the SW in 1952 and the lovely apron pattern looks so much like the aprons my Dear Mother used to wear! 1952 was a big year in my life and a Patriotic Apron from that era warms my heart!

I do understand if you can only count those that post to your site but I wanted to let you know that I love the Apron!

Best Wishes to you on the Opening of Your Exhibit in Abilene!

Until Later,
xoxo
