Posted - Sep 26 2008 : 9:15:43 PM I tried to take a picture but of course the camera battery is dead and dh doesn't know where the charger can possibly be found so I will go on description alone. I got this rug for FREE at my church tonight. We swap stuff every few months. Anywho, it is a an area rug about 5 1/2 feet by 3 1/2. It is backed with cotton canvas or muslin. It is not hand hooked and has no pile, tufts or carpet like ends. It is wool and looks like many braids and/or crochet links were used to make a floral pattern. Where only the background shows (cream) it is done in whirls. It is very beautiful and quite intricate. I have no idea of the age so any help as to what this type of rug is called would be very helpful.
If not I will have to just take a picture and post later with all my other free goodies. I swear you wouldn't believe some of the stuff I got!
Good night ladies.
