Posted - Sep 26 2008 : 1:24:56 PM Any water - it's so soothing, chickens scratching in the yard, birds splashing in my birdbath. The one I miss the most is DD sucking. When she was little she'd suck on her tonge and it made the cutest slurpping sound. |

Posted - Sep 26 2008 : 03:46:03 AM Baby Noises... Nora's laughter... the sound of Nora's breathing as she falls asleep in my arms...
I also love the sound of the mountain mornings around her. Birds calling, the soft sighs of the wind through the boughs of pine trees.
One of my favorite favorite sounds is pretty much anything to do with horses. Chomping on feed, neighing a greeting, the pounding sounds their hooves make as they race with the wind for the sheer joy of running.

Posted - Sep 25 2008 : 8:35:10 PM I love it when my kids really laugh. When something tickles them so that they just can't help but wiggle with the excitement of it. I also love the sound of water. It doesn't matter. Waves on a shore, a little creek, or a small waterfall. Water sounds make me feel better somehow. I also love that wooshing sound that just a small breeze makes in the top of trees. You know, when it's quiet and then the "whoosh"? That is really cool too. |

Posted - Sep 25 2008 : 6:36:45 PM I love the sound of my horses neighing early in the morning when I go into the barn to feed them. It's sitting on the porch at night listening to the crickets, the frogs, the goats, it's the sound of rain falling on a tin roof. Laura Farmgirl Sister #354 www.2lmzfarms.blogspot.com |

Posted - Sep 25 2008 : 6:20:14 PM I love the sound of my little farm after I've been to town. Like right now I hear crickets outside the window. My goats' sounds. The calves mooing. The pigs making their hungry noise. My little guinea babies when I come out in the morning are at the door making their funny little noise.
I hope I never have to move back to town. I'd sure miss the farm sounds. Especially on Sunday.
Oh, and tractors mowing hay in the fields all around me.
Just plain ole country noise!! |
