sisters!!!

I went for my first day of my internship yesterday and I WAS SO EXCITED!! I have been waiting for this day since I started school 2 years ago. FINALLY, I got to work in the Health Information Department of a Hospital for REAL!! I cannot type my over excitement and joy I have right now. It was better than I could have imagined. The people were awesome and answered all my questions and I felt like my education finally came all together. A few months ago, I got down and wasn't sure if this is what I wanted to do. Yesterday VALIDATED everything for me and I am really motivated to graduate and get into my field. Can you say I have found my passion again!!! I had to share with all my supporting sisters. Thank you for the encouragement and help along the way... I think they must have thought I had been drinking or something because I was sooooooooooooooooooo excited about the internship. They all were laughing at me but in a good way.

YEEEEEAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!

I shadowed the gal today who is in the EXACT job I want. IT WAS FUN!! I was so ecstatic just to be in meetings and "be" part of decisions. She was really helpful and gave me a lot of great advice. I am even more motivated...well a little tired...but I will be on the ball again tomorrow. Y E A H ! ! !

Heather, I'm so happy for you! You deserve this girl, you've worked long and hard for this day and I'm so glad it was just as good as you had imagined it. I love to read of your strength in working through all the obstacles that have been along your path and you stuck to your dreams through it all.

Thank you all!! I am still giddy with excitement. Seriously, this is the first job I have EVER been this excited about. This is a HUGE validation for me- from all the years in the military, the loooonngg semesters of study, the year of put downs and no support from my family (excluding hubby and Charlie on that one), the naysayers and the well wishers. This day culminated all my beliefs in my self and all of my goals I so want to achieve. It was the first time, deep down in my heart, I know this is the right path for me. I can't explain it but I know all ya'll know what I am talking about. I NEVER (well besides marrying Scott and having Charlie) have been so 100% about something, EVER!!! I was really worried I would hate it or that is just wasn't what I was expecting or that as usual, I would be let down. But I never got that feeling once. I never realized how confident I was until I walked in and actually kinda took over but in a positive way. I was treated with the upmost respect and they were all so kind. I am (almost) a real walking talking Health Information Manager and I Couldn't be more happy or proud or giddy or grateful or exuberant or silly...ha!! : )

I forgot to add that this is TRULY the FIRST time in my life that I wanted to do a job so badly and really enjoyed it. I have had MANY MANY MANY jobs in my life, but this was truly the first time I got excited about one, even the military didn't motivate me or excited me as much. Seriously, if there was emotion typing, my screen would be flashing with all pretty colors and smiley faces and the happy dance... no the happy line dance..I am in Texas after all!!
