Is it just me or did it just fly right by this year? I feel like I just got my plants all in. Now its time for MUMS AND PUMPKINS. I know winter doesn't go this fast. Anyway I was sitting in the now famous GRAMMY CHAIR, and the one corner of the living room looked like a late fall or early wnter evening in the house. It has been a cool, and dark with a lot of rain today. Well you know I took a picture.
Mary Beth wants me to post pictures of how my secret garden came out and I will, but today it just wasn't weather perfect. So you get a nice picture of a dreary corner in the house.

It really did seem to go by too fast. But we did have a long and cool Spring and even the farmers were behind in planting and now are behind in harvesting. It is really chilly at night and damp air so the mornings are very dewy. I kinda like it this way--for now. MB

It did go fast but it was hot here and still is....my ac is on now...it was 90 yesterday....too hot for me! Your garden is gorgeous and your impatience in the wheel barrow are beautiful! How do you get them to grow so big and mound up like that!?!? they're gorgeous! I think it's just too hot here! Sunflowers do well here cuz there's so much of it! Ha! Ha!
I love rainy days....I made whole wheatbread today and was going to go to MOuntain HOme...an hour away but when I went to leave I had a flat tire so I guess the powers that be didn't want me traveling today. I got the tire fixed andwill go tomorrow I guess...I have to go before Ike arrives not that we get hurricanes but we get the backlash and I don't want to travel these hills in stormy weather! Your house is SO cozy....I want to come visit and stay upstairs in that big bedroom! Do you have a fireplace in the winter to warm yourself by?

The farmers around here are predicting and long cold winter. Since we didn't heat up like we usually do this past summer, I'm thinking they may be on to something.

Living without air-conditioning this year...summer is seeming soooo long here!!! 88* in the living room right now! I'm ready for winter when we can work around a wood stove!

It's still here, Nancy Jo. The temperature got to nearly 90 today. I've just got summer by the throat and I'm not gonna let go! I'm not done yet! Too much stuff left to do at the farm. :O

I know exactly what you mean! The spring was long and cold. Summer didn't even feel like it was kicking into gear until Mid June, and now it is the beginning of September. Already it feels like the middle of November! I hope we are not getting ourselves in for 8-9 months of chill!

It did fly by...I knew it wasn't just me! My son's pre-school teacher said it was because it took so long for it to feel like summer, that summer just didn't seem to last very long. I tend to agree. I still have stuff to put in the ground and Holloween is really a hop, skip and a jump away...I'm thinking of putting up some low-tunnels to extend the growing season! I still can't believe the kids are back in school. I love winter tho...kinda looking forward to burrowing in. There's always next year in the garden (sigh).

Know what you mean. There are things that I had planed to do that have not been touched. Areas of the yard that I have not gotten the leaves raked out from last winter. On the other hand, my list is building for thing to do in the shop after it frost and all that stuff outside dies and quits growing and producing.
