Posted - Sep 07 2008 : 08:42:16 AM Ok ladies, I need to downsize greatly. Hubby called me yesterday and we decided, no matter where we get stationed next, we are going to live out our dream of living in an RV and enjoying a simple life. I need to sell A LOT of stuff, so help me clean out my closets and cupboards. I am so excited, not only for us but for the opportunities for Charlie to see the USA!!! I am already making a list of what we "need" and have to figure out how to store things in a small space. I will still be able to do my college work online and since we don't plan on this until early next year, I will have 90% of my internship done. Charlie and I went to check out RV's this morning and I have a lot of great ideas for simplifying and organizing in a small space. So look for some great deals in the marketplace. I am SOOOOO excited!!!

Posted - Sep 07 2008 : 11:11:55 AM Good for you! I am excited for you. I love our RV. You will be amazed at how much you can get in the cabinets and closets. My only problem, was the lack of counter space. That is mostly because I cook everything from scratch, even in the RV. Will be looking forward to hearing more about your plans. |

Posted - Sep 07 2008 : 10:42:06 AM Excellent news, I used to travel crosscountry when i was young and gas was 33 cents a gallon. it is a beautiful country, especially if you take the old roads that are near the interstate, the scenery is nicer and the traffic is usually pretty tolerable too...

Posted - Sep 07 2008 : 09:06:32 AM We have always wanted to try this, even if for only for a few months. We can rent an RV for a heck of a lot less than renting and we would like to go park somewhere for a few weeks or even months, like at the beach, and just live. We feel like this is the time to do it. We are unattached except for the whole military thing. We could do it between deployments, so we ensure a lot of fun family times and lot of laughs and love. We do eventually want to settle down, but not yet. Charlie has some time before he needs to be in school, so the timing is perfect.
