had a doc appointment .. they jus' wanted to make sure i've got this 'pump' thingie all worked out! and i did jus' FINE!

then i ambled on over to a big antiques mall in louisville .. OH MY gosh!!!!! what a deeeeevine .. deeeeelicious lunch i had at their little 'cafe'. one of the best QUICHES (veggie) i've EVER eaten! with lots of fresh fruits on the side. a blue berry muffin .. wonderful salad with ... again .. the BEST bleu cheese dressing i've ever eaten. it was 'darker' than bleu cheese usually is .. i forgot to ask what was in it! BUT there was a plate of crackers and a yummy spread .. it was cream cheese with pureed cucumbers .. and tinted GREEN! it was wonderful!

what a sweet treat .. oh .. and speaking of SWEETS .. their desserts woulda' sent me into a diabetic coma .. sooo .. i passed on them!

i mus' say .. even though i had fun looking at their FIVE floors of antiques .. i saw very little there that i wanted to bring home .. and ohhhhhh wheeeeeeee .. their prices were higher than (what we gurlfrenz in maryland usta' call: G.P. .. HA! DO NOT ASK!!!)

saw a grey enamel pie plate i thought i'd get for Joy .. but it was CHIPPY and EIGHTEEN dollars! silly! silly!

gosh .. made me wonder if these shoppers really BUY things there .. but i guess they do .. cuz' they are still in biznezz! i could ahve two GREAT un-chipped pie plates for that price in most of my other fav shoppes!

THEN .. i stopped in E-town and bought tons of cute clothes and toys for our GREAT-grandson's second birthday. I do tend to SPLURGE on these kids. HA! i figger i'm just spending their inheritance on them NOW!!

and ohhhh yesssssss .. got some more fun FANCY NANCY stuff too!

i'll take some pics and post them later.

xoxo, frannie

Sounds like a loverly day. I get irritated when the antiques are hiked up so high! I guess somebody pays that much otherwise they'd be forced to mark them down. In my little town we have "some like it old" and it's mostly consignment stuff. So you can get a good deal from the folks that just want to get rid of things but not too concerned with making money. I've found a lot of good deals there, and also made aware that somethings they charge 30$ for I can get at goodwill for 3$, like BIG glass jars or large enamelware washing pots.
I could use a good long day of good food and shopping, all to myself or with my best girlfriend. Maybe I'll plan for that this fall.

sounds like a wonderful day. hubby and I had to go to town today.. I got to test drive a pfaff sewing machine and that was fun but it would have been even better had I not been sick- and had he not been sick either. the whole family has the flu bug.

Blessings, Debra
