I think I need to take a break from the forum for a few days. I don't know how to handle the "Farmgirl Candidate" and think we can all listen to Frannie (in Kentucky's) story about working in Washington D.C. without getting offended and not take it so politically. This is getting a little tough for me and I am taking a break. I agree with respecting rules but can't understand why that would offend anyone. I am a tolerant person, very MUCH so, but if we can't tell a history of where we worked that might be interesting to others ..it's going to get worse and we're going to get scared to death of what is okay to say. It's just getting too much. I found Frannie's work history a fascinating read and even if it did veer somewhat into some political things, I don't think as an adult I can find it offending, and think this is just getting kind of odd in my opinion. That's why I am taking a small break.

So I may be off for a few days and I hope you all take care ..
Love and God Bless.......
Brooke~

I agree with lilwing...I too, was going to step away for awhile....too much....stuff. I personally wanted to say that I read Frannie's post as a "history lesson." How grateful I feel to have a first hand experience/account during those times. I also think we need to talk more about Barbies and chickens. I vote for the chicken!

This just illustrates why these topics (politics & religion) are frowned upon for this forum. Too many people getting upset, the offended, the offendee, and now another one is offended since we can't discuss these topics rationally. Let's just agree to enjoy each other in our commonalities (aprons) and leave the politics to other forums.

I was dreading the day that politics would enter our forum..... I don't know what happened, but since politics and religion seem to be two subjects that no one can agree on I find it is the fastest way cause a rift between people. I've found that it's ok to believe what I believe and it's also ok to let others believe what they believe. Whatever happens next in the Whitehouse we're all still going to be here, helping each other along. *HUGS & KISSES* to the offened.....

Somethin' went sour and I'm not sure why. I thought we were all just goofing around. I think that someone took something too serious. I hope we all work it out.

I completely understand what you are saying Brooke. I can't for the life of me understand what caused the rift. The saddest part of it, it seems to be between a couple of my favorite people that post here.
I have read through the three pages of posts twice now...am I missing something?
It seems to me that when we have the number of diverse people posting here that we do, not EVERY single post is going to be inline with what we believe. Such is life!

Brooke, I haven't been here very long, but I know this has happened to many in other forums. I think you are wise to step away for a bit. It's just like having a little tiff at home and going for a good long walk to clear your head.
Wishing you peace.
