Posted a picture and I'm looking into a play group or day care for Richard. There doesn't seem to much out there in his age group.

Susan yes its Pfalzgrak, and the pattern is "folk art".
Alee, thank you so much for asking. His surgery is next Friday the 12th. That is when I will be on medication.

Oh Nancy Jo...I don't know who to feel worse for? You or Richard? LOL! Not funny, I know...and I hope he recovers and I'm so sorry he was hurt. Oh...that desk is to die for!!!! How cute is that??? I absolutely LOVE the chimney sweep needlework? or is it a drawing and to have it dated from the 1800's? SO COOL!!!! I think your thrift shop is going to be on my list for vacation destinations! As for the bell....not so much...I have one but I wouldn't do that to a good friend!
BTW....you don't think he did this purposely to get out of fall chores do you? NO....he wouldn't do that right before raking season and with football starting.....or would he? Hmmm....coincidence?

Nancy, I recently saw several pieces of the pottery dishes you have begun to collect. I will go back and see if they are there. Julia and I went junkin recently and I saw them, and now wish I had bought at least one!!!! But it gives me an excuse to go back to that place....:)

I posted on your blog.....hope Richard is better soon.

Cute desk.
I hope Richard recovers quickly. When I first read your topic, I though richard was your son! lol Men can be such fussy whiney sick people. When Ben gets sick I can't wait for him to get better so he will leave the house! LOL
You have such nice things:)

Karen- that brooch thing is kind of scary, but I understand that was a very popular thing to do at the time.
Georgiann- that baby monitor thing sounds pretty good.

When DH had knee surgery, he was a very good patient -- may you be as blessed. And how about a baby monitor or some walkie-talkies instead of a bell? It would save you a few steps if you know what he needs, instead of just hearing a little bell tinkling and then going to find out.

That little desk is so sweet! I've never seen a teeny one like that....Sorry to hear Richard got hurt, however I suspect if you give him a bell he might suffer other injuries from the nurse. It is always so hard when recovery time takes so long. I remember when my husband was recovering from back surgery, it seemed like a real siege.
Your curtain blowing in the breeze looks so nice, I'm longing for fall breezes here. At least the sludgy quality of the air has disappeared. I am, of course still being a bit of a bum, doing lots of reading and a little sewing.
That sampler is very sweet, there is always such a feeling of wonder when you discover these things hidden in other things. I remember when I found some old family jewelry from my father's side of the family inside an old writing desk. It was this big silver brooch with woven hair designs and a list of all the dead people the hair was from engraved on the back. I was a teenager at the time and was sort of appalled by it. I guess they had to do something in those long Maine winters.

Thank you again for the patterns Nancy Jo, I know I will be able to use them....

Miss Wilma. That is just so nice of you!!! I haven't found a new piece in so long. Thank you so so much. You are a wonder.
MB, I will reconsider the BELL thing.
Thank you Alee, I couldn't believe the woman wanted to part with it. She said it was her Mothers when she was a little girl.

OMG don't give him a bell. So sorry he got hurt and will be home 'til January--Again don't give him a bell or you could suddenly develope a hearing problem and not hear a thing. haha.
i hope it is not too serious and he can go watch golf or something. MB
