Heather,
I cked your blog. Very pretty! I sure wish I had mine out. But, gosh I have got to clean some first. I dont know how I get so far behind. I am sure glad that I have my job because I have to work but what I wouldnt give to be a stay at home wife. I am praying that I stay healthy and can do that in 10 more years. I will really decorate then!

Heather I checked your blog and it was so nice to see your Autumn decorations! Really liked the Back Door Wreath!

Jessica and Barbara.....actually...it is interesting that three of us all had the same Wall set up and we are all here on the same Forum!! I do know that during the 1920s-1940s there were many house/room plans that could be ordered through the mail either to a builder or just anyone who wanted them. They were very popular! Sears was one that offered house plans through mail order even earlier.... like late 1900's! Soooo guess we lived in houses that were part of that time!!! Very Coincidental!!!

I couldn't hold off any longer and my fall decorating started yesterday. My excuse - not that I really needed on - our temps here have been in the mid 60's, with the mornings at 35. Next week we are to be back up in the mid 70's - but I love the colors of fall! So far, I've only done the dining room. I put together an arrangement for the table using a small crock pot, pumpkin scented candle, some nuts and fall colored leaves. I'm still learning the "art" of making floral arrangements but it doesn't look to bad. I have a 'side-board' style cabinet in my dining room which has a very rustic red wood tool caddy that I picked up at a yard sale sitting on top (you know the kind that has a handle with open bins for nails and screws and an open area below to put your tools in). I decorate this with the seasons or holidays. During Christmas, the bins are resting places for some angels and beneath is filled with greenery. The fall look is mini pumpkins, gourds, mums, fall leaves and a few candles. The rest of the house will get worked on in the next couple of days.

Jessie, your living room looks like the livingroom of a house I rented years ago in Oregon. The fireplace, wall units and windows are exactly the same. Odd that two different people have or had a livingroom like yours. Odd, huh?

Audrey, our house was built in 1927 - it's a tiny little bungalow with a screened front porch.

It's still hot here. I don't even think they put out pumpkins here until the end of September. I will be buying some for the front and one to carve with Charlie.

Audrey, yes I do make quilts and would love to share pictures but I will have to get my teen age son to show me how to do that as I am electronic pigmy. Most of the quilts I make are not full size. I am more into the throw size which are easier to handle for hand quilting. I have a bunch of full-queen size that my mother made. What a blessing to have them to remind me of her now that she is gone! It's cool and rainy here today, and should I ever finish cleaning the bathroom (UG!!) I may get to do some quilting. A great day to all!!

Even though it's 85 degrees here today, I took down my summer decorations and went ahead and put my fall stuff up. This picture shows my fireplace mantle. Most of this will stay up until after Thanksgiving, but I'll add some "Halloweenie" things in October!

Goodness, no, not yet.. It's still summer down here in Houston. Probably about the end of September... beginning of October..

Janneane....Please do not ever worry about commiting fauxpaus! Goodness knows we wouldn't be human if by some chance we were fauxpaus free!!! Ha!

Do you make quilts? I love to sew but I have never had the patience to make a quilt. I so admire those that do and would love to see some of yours if you do make some! I am glad you are diving in with the rest of us and posting!!

This is my first post to MJF though I have been a reader for quite a while so hope I don't commit a huge fauxpas! Though it is warm here in Kansas, I didn't even try to resist fall decorating as soon as the kids went back to school in mid August. I have 10 or so fall quilts just crying to escape from cedar chests and are now displayed all over the house. Love reading your posts and ideas!!!

Wow! It's still feels like summer here. I haven't even thought about fall yet. I do miss the north for that, but I just hate being cold. I like decorating in Sunflowers and apples for the fall.:) hugs Jess

Ah, I'd love to, as it's actually my favorite, though too-short here, season. However, it's 85 and sunny today, and will be 85 and sunny tomorrow, with some cooling rains (remnants of the hurricanes and tropical storms) over the weekend, but still...I usually wait until the very end of September or even into the first weekend of October. And often it's just because I've started back to work (teaching) in September and just don't have enough time for that until I get settled back into my routine. Have fun decorating, those who are...I'll be joining you in a few weeks!

I think it IS ALMOST time to decorate for fall here -- but not for Halloween! Yup, a house in our neighborhood is already bedecked (on the lawn) with cheapie halloween decorations. Bah, humbug! tee hee

I can't wait to decorate for fall!! I have to stop myself from filling up the shopping cart with fall decor everytime I go to the store...I won't be decorating until the last week of this month, most likely. It's really starting to cool off here, but it still has a bit to go before it feels like fall to me. I think the days have to get a wee bit shorter first. :)

I've got a few things out inside the house, but I'm going to really get going on the decorating this weekend. My inlaws are coming in the weekend after next and I want to have everything done. I have seen a house or two near me that have put out their outside decorations and I can hardly wait to get mine out too. A few leaves are changing here as well.
