Posted - Sep 01 2008 : 9:26:48 PM I just realized how long it's been since I've been here! Wow...
Last time I was here I was just getting started in the Mustang Challenge. It's now done and over, but I've been busy with the horses, taking on more mustangs and gentling them, then finding them new adoptive homes. It's been time consuming, but fun!
Hope y'all have been doing well!

Posted - Sep 02 2008 : 08:27:38 AM OH WOW, DH and I just saw this on TV the other night. We both wished that they had showed more of the working with the mustangs behind the scenes.
I'm glad that you adopted her and she lives on your farm now!

Posted - Sep 02 2008 : 08:00:02 AM He would have made the finals. I was actually worried about being able to ride him at all because he was so flighty even two weeks before leaving. But something clicked and it all came together a week before we left, and when that happened I knew we had a shot. But it was not meant to be.
How have you been?

Posted - Sep 02 2008 : 07:23:05 AM That's too bad that he came down lame! I bet he would have done great in the competition! What an amazing experience!

Posted - Sep 02 2008 : 07:21:01 AM Hi Kay, missed you too!
Alee, I did the one in Sacramento earlier this year. It was fun, a lot of hard work, and a great experience. I'd never pushed myself to get a horse that far in such a short time and it's good to know that both the horse and I can accomplish more than I'd imagined.
Sandy, unfortunately, came down lame the first day of the competition, so we were unable to compete We adopted him after the competition and he's now here at home where I've been continuing with his training. He's a wonderful trail horse, has a real talent for western pleasure, and has started cutting lessons (which is what the photo is of!)
