I received a lovely box from MaryJane and Meg today, what a way to close out the month! Handmade soap, candle, task bar and yards of a great vintage ribbon insertion type trim-plus a beautiful vintage baby coat that brought me to tears. It will be displayed in the guest room with the christening gowns and treasured forever.
In the same delivery was a box from a barter I'm doing with Miss Wilma and she included a pair of white leather button baby shoes! I think I'm in heaven :)
This has been a very sweet experience to be chosen as Farmgirl of the Month. After a lot of thinking about who deserves to be chosen (though we all know each and every farmgirl should be), my choice to "take over the crown" for September is Carol Sue in Spokane. I think this will help her through some rough days and nights, knowing we all care and want to honor her with good wishes.
Thanks to everyone who participated, I do appreciate.
Ronna

Book is very likely out of print, I've had my copy since the late 70's. It was one of the forerunners of the Todd Wilber top secret books. Gloria Pitzer had some good copycat recipes books before him also.

Girls Ronna sent me a book called Better than Store Bought by Helen witty and Elizabeth Schneider Colchie. It gives some basics on making your own cream cheese, cottage cheese, marinara sauce, apple leather, vanilla extract, a little of this and that that is wonderful. I have had so much fun reading it after I got it out of dh's hands.....we ahve been reading recipes earlier this evenign to each other. I highly recommend it.

Nance you would never be lame brained, just have so many wonderful ideas running throught your head at all times, hard to keep track of all of them, besides learning the language little by little over there. Hey, I think that is the hardest part, applauding you girl!!!!!!

Oh goodie, it got there safely. Only person I know who gets FedEx delivery on Saturday. I do hope the old mixer does fine, I did plug it in to be sure it worked before buying, but that's all. The "better than store bought" cookbook has the fruit leather recipe...is that a lazy way of getting the recipe to you? I've had the book for many years, first time I've seen one in paperback.
Do the boots fit? The tag said 8 1/2 but I couldn't find the size inside. I held them up to my shoe and was a bit larger, so hope they fit you or someone in your family. You gotta have cowboy/girl boots for dancing next summer at the Farm meet! This gives you a lot of time to have them well broken in.

Hi gals, I got Ronna's box today and treats indeed.
I got a pair of cowboy boots, a old sunbeam mixer that I plan on giving a small workout tomorrow, recipe books and old black wooden dominios. Shoot I know I am forgetting something, oh vests for going to Miss Wilmas. It was a great cheer up today on a very bluesy day for me. Strange how it can hit me at times, but thank you thank you thank you.

Another giftie box in the mail, oh my how fun.
