Posted - Aug 26 2008 : 04:55:28 AM two farm girls, that are related, get together and have a great time? We called it our farm girl get together! Since neither ddmash. or myself live close enough to any chapters to join in. We meet up at her parents cabin, and we paddled around on the flowage, went for a boat ride, and out to eat for a lovely lunch. We had a great time, the weather was wonderful. Then a couple days later, they came down to my parents 50th. anniversary party. Dawn's son even got a bit of "farm dirt" on his pants and shoes. (meaning manure) Sorry about that. We had fun!

Posted - Aug 26 2008 : 5:53:39 PM We had a great time up there in the north woods! Michele's husband took my son, Erik and my husband, Ali around in Michele's great big, fancy tractor on Saturday (right in the middle of the anniversary party). Ali said he loved it so much that he would pay to drive one! Erik was in heaven chasing Michele's border collie, Ruby, & her kitten McFlurry (by the way did she ever come back?) all around the sheep's pen.
Michele gave us a tour of the most beautiful cow pasture you'll ever see in your life in the evening, after we finished tasting her yummy homemade cheese. Yes, Erik stepped in a fairly fresh cow pie & I got it all over my hands cleaning up, but we really didn't mind. We were having to good a time taking in the beautiful Blue Hills surrounding the homestead & enjoying Michele's company.
Playing in the Chippewa Flowage in my paddle boat & my dad's fishing boat was tons of fun too. Lunch at "Famous Dave's" on Round Lake (Hayward, WI) was fun too. All in all, a great little get together! I hope the pair of us can get together again before another year goes by! Maybe we'll be able to add a few more farmgirls to the gathering by then!

Posted - Aug 26 2008 : 05:21:26 AM It's so good when farm girls get together. I have the same problem here -- not close enough to join any chapters, and not sure if there's enough in my neck of the woods to start one. I'd like to check it out, though!

Posted - Aug 26 2008 : 05:15:10 AM Sounds as if a wonderful time was had by all. Fantastic that both you could get together. As for the "farm dirt", I don't think it's ever hurt anyone, now he can say he's a farmboy, right? |
