Hi, I love to travel most anywhere. Kudos to those that love Chicago. I take the train there often. It is a big and friendly city. To get a cheap & nice room; goto hotrooms.com. Once I got a beautiful room across from Grant Park. The hotrooms site gets listings from hotels all the city that are left-over for the nite and the price is rock bottom.
Try Rapid City, S.D., New York always; at least once. Try a theatre group tour. Texas is a must visit place; esp. Hill Country.
If you go foreign; I am ready for a trip. Puerto Rican walk signs say Cruize. Beautiful nature. India is a step back in time. Belgium, Holland are art & history museums. So classy compared to us. The US is a very young country. Tokyo food. Taipei, Taiwan is not part of China. I lived there as a kid & loved it. I imagine England. My husband & I want to take a long train trip. Travel by ship could be interesting; not an eat-forever cruise.
I just thought that there might be a Farmgirl convention to go to someday.
I like our screened -in porch with a friend or my grandson, too. Stop by.

Edinburgh---it's an amazing city and I'd love to try to explain it to you but it has to be experienced. London is a close second. And I really thought I would hate London.

Boston is my all time favorite. There is so much history there and so many neat areas of town to explore. Plus it's right on the ocean.

If I had to choose a city internationally, that would be Sydney in the land of OZ hands down.

Great city, easy for travelers to navigate, tons to do and see and the people are fabulous!

Hands down, forever, my favorite city in the USA is Jackson Hole, Wyoming!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Beautiful!!!!!!! While we were there my husband got up super early (5 am) and went to get coffee at this place we were staying in. He rushes back to the room, hauls me out of bed, throws my robe to me, and drags me out on this super huge deck. It was a little chilly, but all of a sudden I heard 100s of wolves howling. I can close my eyes and hear them even now. The city was just breath-taking to me. I loved everything about it.

I am not really into the big city thing either, but I must say that Nashville Tenn. holds some great memories for me. I remember the country Fan Fair that we would go to. All those shops down town. And the history made there.

I have to agree with Suzanne. Picking just one city is hard! I'm from back east and in 98' my family plus in-laws traveled to Harper, Kansas for a 50th wedding anniversary. We stopped in Hannibal, Missouri (birth place of Samuel Clemens a.k.a. Mark Twain) and it was fantastic. It's right on the Miss. River which is huge! Baltimore,Md. has parts that are great, Richmond, Va. is beautiful, and Gettysburg, Pa. is also a neat place. But really, if we're thankful for each day, content in where God has us-any place we get to plant our feet can be an opportunity for beholding His beauty-the scenery, the history, and the people!

Yeess! I'm near Miles City, and I think that is one of my favorite towns too. Everytime I'm in town to do my shopping, I always see people standing on the side walk talking. Just visiting or whatever, makes it feel like a friendly town, and it is. It's big enough that it has everything I need, but small enough that if I have to drive across town to go to a different store, it only takes 5 min.

I also like Casper, WY.. lived near there for a time. Umm been to Washington D.C. and really liked that. I loved seeing all the history there. Went there in school so got to see all the tourist spots.

Van Horne, IA is another fav, but only to me, because that's where my grandparents live and I practicly grew up in that town too, with my cousins and all. It's just a typical small farm town in Iowa and to me it's comming home..

I really don't like big cities... Only to do my shopping and then get out! I love just driving around, seeing what there is to see.

Now that I have thought about it, I'll have to add to my favorites. These are towns not cities. Red Cloud NE, Pella IA, Miles City MT. Anyone live near any of those towns?

I love Portland, Oregon. We lived there several years before we moved to Tennessee. I also love Albuquerque, New Mexico.

New Orleans! what a great place! I love many cities in Germany too, but I'm having a hard time choosing...I'm not a fan of lots of traffic it really scares me, so I tend to like smaller places. I want to travel the back roads of France in the next few years, but it will mostly be to smaller places...Dublin is a wonderful city too...I was there when I was fairly young and have good memories of it.

We have travled across the U.S. and I have to say I am not into the "big city" thing. I enjoy the smaller out of the way places, so I think I would have to say my favorite so far has been Idaho City, Idaho. Although I must say North Myrtle Beach, S. Carolina was fun.

Mine would be Boulder CO. I have been there several times.. Love the down town shopping square, the easy access to Whole foods, and the greenbelt that surrounds the city.

Oooh, Savannah! I want to go there...
Bellepepper Posted - Aug 26 2008 : 07:53:03 AM
I love Washington D.C. also. Been there twice and wanting to go again. Next time, I want to spend enough time there to see things other than just the Mall. SOOO much to see. My second pick would be Savanna GA. That could be because we ate at Paula Deen's restraurant, Lady and Son's.

Ocho Rios Jamaica--we have been all over that island, but that city is my favorite. DH and I want to retire there.

I have lived in Portland- too fast my liking..I would say now... I love Reno and Carson City. they are both good sized cities but you don't feel like it- the traffic isn't bad at all. And in Carson everything is off of one main street. In Reno everything I needed is right bunched up together.
