I always put my pumpkins and corn stalks out. Our town has a scarecrow contest every fall and I will create some kind of scarecrow "scene". The first year, I had a scarecrow man pushing the lawnmower with a stuffed cat in front of the mower like he was trying to get it. I had a scarecrow woman in a running pose behind him ready to beat him over the head. I won that year. I've had scarecrows smooching on the porch, I had a scarecrow shotgun wedding and I had a scarecrow picnic. I haven't decided what scene to stage this year.

A fodder shock is dried corn stalks that have been cut and stacked upright, sorta like a teepee. I usually tie a pretty big bow around it. Tall corn stalks work best.

I would love to decorate the yard, however our cows and horses roam so they would eat anything I put out. However I do decorate the front porch. Fall is my favorite time of year.

I usually have pumpkins out, and some mums too. I have them already so am ready for fall, LOL!
I still need the decoration for my door and might wanna add some more pumpkins and an extra mum or 2.
I LOVE summer, but like autumn too, for the decorations mostly :D

all sounds so great! JOY .. what is a 'foddershock'? ohhhh .. i want to see pictures! NOW .. you are makin' me want to go get a big olde hayrake!
gosh .. when luna, kathy and i were travelling to illinois .. we found one that i SWEAR must have been 10 feet wide .. perfect condition .. surely could never have been used. olde .. but not ANCIENT! it was wonderful .. now i wish i'd gotten it! BUT .. i probably would like a more PRIM used one better though! be sure to post pictures of your autumn displays gurlfrenz! xo

Since fall is my favorite time of year, I do decorate inside and out. I don't have a porch, I call it a stoop, but I do what I can there...I try to think of something a little different each year. Pumpkins are the staple,we go to our favorite pumpkin farm and come home with many more than we need. My dh cooks some up for the flesh and we freeze it for pies all year till the next visit to the pumpkin farm, we bake the seeds. The night before Thanksgivng ,time that we set aside for sharing what we are grateful for we toast the Lord for His provision for the past year and share personally our thanks. Inside I display all the warm and comforting colors and enjoy leaves from our yard and acorns from the park. The most important decoration is our friends and family with their smiling faces and gracious hearts, that we welcome to our home. What a nuturing time of year and we try to spread that feeling to those we meet...Debbie

We have bad sandstorms here so I won't be decorating outside but will do a little inside. I don't have any fall decorations so I will be on the lookout. I will be making myself some fall themed grocery bags to take shopping!

I usually do a large foddershock display. We have an old horse-drawn hayrake that I sometimes use along with the foddershock,straw bales, pumpkins and gourds. Turns out very pretty. Fall is my favorite season to decorate.
