Posted - Aug 21 2008 : 10:12:11 AM ... we are having a blustery day here in Moscow Idaho and I just had a lovely warm cup of organic chai while I watched the wild weather from my kitchen window. I Simply adore Autumn and I can start to smell it in the air now. We are supposed to have a warm weekend, but I feel that it is going to be autumn before too long...YAY! count me an autumn lover. Crisp air, cool sunny days and long walks picking apples, windy picnics and shluffing through the fallen leaves...pulling out crafts and getting busy for the holiday...YAY! Cider, home made pate and baking things after the heat of summer. Cuddling with my sweetie and watching the stars....ok, I'll stop raving
Sorry just had to chirp Who else is getting Autumn teasers? how do you celebrate Autumn? Are you an autumn lover too?

Posted - Aug 21 2008 : 6:50:16 PM After seven years living in California, this will be my first autumn back on the east coast. I can't wait! CA has it's own version of autumn, don't get me wrong, but it's certainly not the same. The fall is definitely my favorite season.
Yesterday morning was the first morning in months that I actually put a light sweater on when I got up in the morning. With the windows open all night, the cool morning air was a refreshing way to wake up. I can't wait to be outside with our little girls when the leaves are in full color and the pumpkin patches are ready for invaders. Here we come...!! |

Posted - Aug 21 2008 : 4:12:56 PM Yes, fall is in the air here too! Leaves are changing, the canadian geese in our pond have been doing "test flights" in the morning, and the nights have been chilly lately around 45 degrees! I love summer and the heat but I also love fall!! bring on the pumpkins!! Laura

Posted - Aug 21 2008 : 12:48:22 PM I LOVE fall!! I enjoy watching for signs of the changing season during late summer and I've observed several in the past few days. We had a cool spell last week but now we are in the 90s again. Still there are some trees, like the walnuts, that have leaves that are beginning to turn. And most leaves have that paler look they get near to the time they begin to change. Crickets are appearing everywhere, there are several in my office. We've even had some fall skies, baby blue with white icy looking clouds last week. One morning it was so cool I could see my breath. The corn is going brown and the fall grasses are up.
The goldenrods and ironweeds are up and in bloom. Birds are starting to gather in small flocks to feed and I've seen squirrels eating a lot and being really active. I even saw some geese flying in a V formation, but they were probably heading for a local lake.
I really get energized when the temps are cooler and my heart delights at all the beautiful scenery of autumn. Yes, it will be soon and I can hardly wait.

Posted - Aug 21 2008 : 12:35:26 PM I do love autumn.....when you feel that little bit of crispness in the air. I love to open up the house, watch the leaves change colors and stay outside without burning up!

Posted - Aug 21 2008 : 11:16:55 AM I love autumn. We really have no winter here in Louisiana. I'd love to spend a cold winter up north. However, I'd be too afraid to drive or walk in the snow and ice. LOL Enjoy your beautiful weather. Marly |

Posted - Aug 21 2008 : 11:08:32 AM It's hard to think autumn when the temperatures are still in the 90's but typical NV weather is one day you wake up and it's spring and a few days later it turns 90's and stays that way through the summer and then one day you wake up and it is fall, a few days later it is winter 30's and 40's no fall to speak of and never much spring. My dh says we have two seasons here, road building and winter. My favorite season is fall and I love everything about it, the smells, the food, I have more energy and my favorite colors to enjoy once more. The acorns collected, the leaves to roll in and it's just a nuturing time to me...Debbie

Autumn is so much fun! I just noticed last night that some of the leaves on my tree outside are turning yellow! You will have to go pick a lot of those wild Palouse apples since I can't! :( I am going to call my extension agent and see if she can give me any tips on local berry sources and wild apples and such that I might be able to go pick from!
