Wow! 5, all 15 and one 8 year old! Dinner was a couple hours ago and we just did a round of bologna sandwiches....DH is out of town and even the dog has moved to his crate! Yikes! Football practice starts later tomorrow and they think it's an excuse to stay up late! I know I'll feel like the cook in a lumberjack camp tomorrow morning! Thank goodness for espresso roast coffee!!!!

Admiring your fortitude Star.. If I have my 10 yr old nephew for an afternoon, I feel like I need a nap for a week , & he's a good kid!

Still got 'em!!! Thanks Ms. Lilly for the idea of the tacos. Went over great! Ended up with popcicles for dinner. One more day of football this week. <whew>

If they're 15 can't they do some of the food prep themselves?

Tacos and Burritos work great for hungry boys too!

Well, the "boys" are here for a couple of days. The triplets Mom has to take the eldest girl up to college. I have a big pot of fresh spaghetti sauce on the stove as we speak! Stuff from my garden! OK so I cheated on breakfast this morning with frozen waffles and pancakes but had to get them all out the door for football practice! I was entertaining them with tales of when I was at summer camp and cooking for 150. <ha> But I also had the equipment to work with (like a toast that cooked 20 slices at a time on a conveyor!) So then out the door. I have a small car but my hubby has a full size. We all jumped in and the battery was dead! So we all (illegally) crammed into my little car....gosh I hate to have anyone w/out a seat belt but we needed to get to football! Luckily we are not too far away and it can be mostly back roads. Tomorrow I think I'll do chicken and dumplings. Have to start making sandwiches in a bit. Short day of practice and they'll be starved! I don't know how big families do it! I only have two of my own. The triplets Mom has 5 (she's from a family of 11 kids!) and another neighbor has 4 kids. It was just my brother and me. My mom was an only. My dad was one of two. Even my hubby was one of 4 (he's a twin too)... I can only take 5 or 6 for about a week and then I'm frazzeled.

I know how you feel. I had a group of girls over for July 4th. A BBQ, tour of the DD's animals and then I found them tye dyeing t-shirts in my bathtub. What a yicky color all those dyes make. Aftwards they walked to the park to watch the fireworks and I went to dinner with a friend. When we all got home they talked and giggled till 3am! I was so tired the next morning, but it was fun too. I love watching her grow up and making friends she'll have for life.

I only have 2 boys, but always seem to have more floating around. When my oldest was in High School we pretty much had 2-6 extra boys each weekend. Cherish those moments, they make great memories. 1 of those "extra" boys of mine was killed in a car accident on his way to our house Thanksgiving morning (in fact he was my son's dorm roomate) and it is so nice to hear all of the boys talk about things they did when they were here. You will miss the "noise" when they all go away. Enjoy them.

I, too, can relate - I have 3 boys. Sometimes I wonder why it is that everyone has to be at our house all the time, but then I realize that I'd much rather have them here where I know what they're doing then out doing who knows what.....
Just after I had my youngest son, I saw a thing on tv (20-20, or a show like that) about a family that had 10 boys!!! None adopted, no twins, no girls! Can you imagine??
Moms of boys may "work from son-up to son-down", but it sure is fun! (most of the time....)
