I have been putting this off cause it will sound like bragging. Well, Like they say, if you done it, it ain't braggin.

Our county fair was over yesterday. We went out and picked up all our stuff. Ole Ron makes kinves and his won the Grand Champion (for the 8th time). So here is my list:
Red onions, Blue
Yellow onions, Blue
White onions, Blue
Cayenne peppers, Blue
Not much from the garden this year. Everything will be ready about October 15. (first frost) LOL
Canning:
Salsa, White, Grandkids don't care what color the ribbon is.
Green beans, Red
Carrots, Blue
Mixed Veggies, Blue
Beets, Grand Champion
Bread & Butter pic, Grand Champion
Yellow green beans, Reserve Grand
Three Bean Salad, Reserve Grand
Didn't do much baking, Not much of a baker
French Bread, REd
Bread mchine bread, Blue, (how hard was that?)
Candy Cookies, Blue

All those ribbons sure were heavy carring them to the car. Probably because we couldn't see past our big Heads.

Congratulations, Belle! Sounds like you worked hard. I guess I'm kinda jealous -- I've always wanted to enter some things in the fair, but we don't really have a county (or in our case, a parish) fair around here that does this type of display. And I'm on the grandkids side. Who cares what color the ribbon -- just enjoy the product!

The kids and I turned in our entries today..whew!! They did alot of baking today so their stuff would be fresh. I told all about the entries on my blog post today if you are interested....they entered more than ever. At our little fair 4H kids can enter all they want, and everyone else can enter up to 3 items. It was sure fun..and a relief to be done with THAT part...haha. We will be taking 4 little hens over to the small animal barn after school on Thursday for poultry judging. Weds afternoon we will get to go over to the exibition building and find out how all the entries did. I loved hearing about all your ribbons Belle! Congrats!!

Wow Belle - you have been super industrious. I have made cinnamon peach butter and that is it....I haven't ever entered anything in the fair, too chicken I guess. My mom entered the wedding dress that she made for my wedding and got a blue though so I can say I was connected to the fair.....

Congrats---Showing at the county fair is so much fun. Like you said the kids don't care the color just that they got a ribbon.
I LOVE your very last line. Perfect. MB

Can't wait for the fair!! Ours is in late Sept & they close school for the whole week. I love that it is in the fall & when we go at night you usually have to wear a jacket. We live in a very rural community, but our fair is considered to be the "Little State Fair" cause it is one of the best. About a month to go!!!

Excellent! You must have to have an extra room to display all your ribbons in, because I'm sure this has happened many times before! I love going to the fair and seeing all the exhibits...our local one is at the end of August...

Congratulations!! I used to love going to the fair in my hometown when I was a little girl. The best part for me was the Grange Hall. That is something I really miss about small town living.
